The Beta has been eye-opening so far. We’ve watched the world of Destiny come to life. Guardians from every platform have arrived at the Tower from their battles in the wild. We have watched your adventures with great interest, and listened to your feedback. Your missions have provided us with volumes of discoveries we can use to prepare for the launch of Destiny in September.

Our work is not done. There is more we can learn. To make this happen, we need more Guardians to play. This is, above all else, a test.

Today, at 4:00 PM PDT, we’re opening the Destiny Beta to anyone who wants to create a character and walk in their boots. There are, of course, some requirements. Aside from all the standard requirements, you’ll need to be brave.

Help us deliver the game you deserve. Before we shut this party down, we’ll welcome everyone who wants a preview of this brave new world. If you have yet to play Destiny, look for offers to download the Beta directly from your console later on this afternoon.

If you have played the Beta, please prepare for new arrivals. We know you won’t go easy on them in the Crucible. Show no mercy.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here or not, but something needs to be done about the points given for capturing the objectives. I don't see the point of bothering with them if you get more points for killing enemies.

I was hoping we would get to try out mission six during the beta.

Its called "The Dark Beyond". It can be played with a fireteam of 1-3 players, and the mission reward is a special weapon upgrade.

Of the people who've tried multiple character types... Anyone have a preference? I've only tried the Titan, and trying to decide between the other two for today.

I played all three character and can say that each have something that could be adjusted. A good example would be the Hunters golden gun. The animation is too long IMO. I have been killed several times while trying to cast it. The Wizards float jump could be tweaked. The Titan smash is crazy powerful. But that is just my opinion.

The Titan is the best because I feel like it's super charge is over powered compared to the other two. You can run blindly into a building with a capture point and activate it, killing everyone who is capturing it. Takes no skill. Where as the Hunter's golden gun for example, you have to at least take the time to aim it at the target.

With that said, I'm leaning towards going Hunter because I see more Titans running around than the other classes.

The beta ends tomorrow. But it might go longer, like the alpha did.

I've played all 3 classes and I like them all. They each have their own perks, so it just comes down to a matter of playing style for each individual.

I like the Warlock, longer glides and a nice ranged special can be pretty handy.
