I see the first episode of Loki Season 2 is called "Ouroboros"

So...the first season was a low rent version of The Umbrella Academy.

And now the second season is starting out ripping off/borrowing from the best time travel story ever ?

12 Monkeys ??

Ouroboros became a major theme of 12 Monkeys from the middle of season 3 until the very end.

You know ouroboros is an old idea, right? like, from the Egyptians old. It just means the cycle of destruction and rebirth.

The season 2 premiere was solid, but they sure wasted no time undoing the ending of season 1. They probably figured "we need that chemistry between Tom and Owen back since it was well-received, gotta reunite them quickly." It reminds me of what happened with Mando a bit.

Thought the premiere was pretty great, way tighter and more self-assured and interesting than stuff like Secret Invasion or Quantumania in terms of writing/direction/production design/vfx/basically everything

I actually really liked Jonathan Majors as Kang in Quantumania, but the reality is, this show continues to do a much, much better job at setting him up as this unstoppable force, and that's on account of the minimalism.

You're not seeing Kang, but you're still seeing his presence everywhere with those murals and statues, and that creepy recording of him with Renslayer.

So quick no spoilers question - do you need to have watched Quantumania/GOTG 3/Secret Invasion to watch S2? Because I'm behind on my MCU but was a big fan of the first season.

The only episode of the second season is a direct sequel to the first season, there is no mention of the events of those movies for the time being.

But if you ask me I think the additional postcredit scenes of Quantumania are really important.

Season 1 was great, Season 2 is off to a strong start too. Don't know how people consider this show the worst MCU show. I feel like this one has been easily the best out of all of them.

Man, I hates me some Dr. Who, ever since I first found it on the TV in the 1970s. It just never clicked with me at all. We'll have to see what happens with Loki.

I put Loki and Hawkeye at the top for completely different reasons, although to be fair I have yet to watch WandaVision. Nothing can be worse than Secret Invasion.
