God damn that was impressive. Not a single boring shot in the entire movie. I wish they all did it like this. Popouts, interesting composition, layering, deep depth. This might be in my top 10 for 3d eye candy. Nicely done!

More thoughts on Bunker. I didn't watch the whole thing, it had a Blair Witch thing going that I didn't care for, so be aware that you will need to enjoy that shakey-cam style to even have a chance for liking this. The other thing that annoyed me was that it had that fishbowl-like distortion to the picture, I suppose to augment the 3d a bit which seemed weak to me. The premise, however is quite fun. Zombies are usually fun and Nazi zombies even more so.

Received:
Kiss Me Kate
Those Redheads from Seattle
Pacific Rim Uprising
Black Panther

I watched so far KMK and BP and I must say BP was really solid 3D and in some aspect more enjoyable that BP in 4K, but KMK just knocked it off the park! I think KMK is the best 3D I have ever witnessed on my Oled TV!

Hi Rocky

Kiss those redheads while uprising with the Panther.

Know how much you loved Kiss Me Kate but always find it gratifying when the 3D is preferred over 4K. That's still because 3D is a unique immersive experience all by itself, not simply an improvement.

Watched:

The Lion King
The Little Mermaid
Jurassic Park
Jurassic World
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (twice in IMAX 3D - The opening scene is very immersive. Definitely worth seeing in this format. I saw it in Dolby Cinema too and that was nice. The Avengers: Infinity War has been the best IMAX 3D film for me this year so far.

Received:

Tomb Raider - I saw this in Real D 3D in theaters and was very underwhelmed with the 3D and the movie overall. Hoping the 3D Blu-ray is better and that I like the movie more on a second watch now I know what to expect. (I never played the video game)

A shop.

Not an "online retailer" but an actual shop with shelves and staff where you can see what you are buying.

My local supermarket (Sainsburys) has it for £18.

No slipcover is guaranteed from any online retailer except one where you can see a picture of what you are actually buying, like ebay.

KMK was made for 3D, no other way you can watch that movie.

Havent gotten around to watch Pacific Rim Uprising 3D but from what I heard it's just 'ok'. Can anyone confirm?

Just order it online, if you don't get a slip it's no big deal. Buy a 2D US copy and stick the 3D disc in it if you're that fussed about a slip.

Hi Rocky.

Can confirm that. 3D had depth but little imagination. At first felt it was geared for juviniles but as the movie went on, the plot became quite clever and the film itself turned into good, goofy fun. Again, a case of 3D making it worth the watch, even if it lacked creativity.

How does it fair against the most recent Black Panther 3D or even the older Pacific Rim 3D?

Black panther is on a level of its own. So was the first Pacific Rim as far as 3D quality.

Uprising is not on the level of either. Not a waste of money but not memorable. But after watching the film, didn't feel it deserved the high level of negativity it got. My better half and I had fun viewing it.

PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING 3/5
AQ: 4.75/5
PQ: 5/5
3D: 4.5/5

Well is doesn’t match the original, but it’s passable. The movie was pretty much what you would expect with giant monsters and robots. Who cares about the humans and their story, lets just get to the fighting. Now I do admit that I wish the animation of these creatures were slowed down a bit. They seemed a bit fast for their size and Del Toro’s at least felt like you were watching giant lumbering creatures towering over the minuscule beings running for their lives. The 3D wasn’t as good as the first but it was pretty damn close in overall depth and separation. The audio just seemed to get better as the movie went on, as the Atmos overheads really started to ramp up and kick into high gear. You can hear them fighting above you and when inside the the cockpit. You can hear hissing, sparks and system computer parts all around/above you. So I recommend as a rental but an easy purchase for 3D buyers

recent personal financial 'situation' lately has meant ive had to tighten the family belt of late, so my usual flexibility to buy every new 3d blu ray release is not feasible

so just been picking up the poundland specials and CEX bargains like 'pan' and shark night

definitely keen on getting one this month as a treat- but using 'pan' as a reference quality one I like for depth and pop outs the ones im keen on are

infinity war
black panther
tomb raider
kiss me kate
pacific rim 2

which is best in your opinion?

tomb raider seems to be getting a few thumbs down on here- kind of torn between BP and KMK as it is

Sainsburys has been decent for 3D!
Asda, Tesco usually have the absolute blockbusters , but not all, Morrisons almost nothing.
