definitely keen on getting one this month as a treat- but using 'pan' as a reference quality one I like for depth and pop outs the ones im keen on are

infinity war
black panther
tomb raider
kiss me kate
pacific rim 2

which is best in your opinion?

tomb raider seems to be getting a few thumbs down on here- kind of torn between BP and KMK as it is
Well infinity war is still in cinemas so you can disregard that one.

Black Panther has excellent 3D on a par with Pan, minus the pop outs.

haha,

The bit on pan where the chicken lays an egg in space is CLASS!
and the feather flying out the screen

Its hard to tell on here as so many threads get overtaken with slipcover and delivery talk rather than on the picture quality (which is fine) don't always have time, but seems mixed on black panther, but as a film that's probably the one id go for due to story.

I don't think opinion is mixed with regard to the 3D in Black Panther. Everyone loves it! It just perhaps needed more pop outs but then Marvel never goes in for those much anyway.

Pan is amazing though, I love the movie and 3D so much.

I have seem some utterly scathing reviews of pan , in every way- but for example avatar was seen as the pinnacle of 3D but I find that boring and the 3D good but nowhere near the best.

Pan Is a bit daft, but the style, design, humour is right up my street and the 3D is absolutely magnificent for me- bright, clear, depth, colour, pop outs at all times- another one of these films I sit watching in amazement at how good it looks.

the early 90s 'hook' one with the daft kid who turns into a bowling ball, now I thought that was shi@e, but everyone loves that

Pan is a very different take on the source material. So was Hook I suppose. I really love the 2003 movie though and think that's a great adaptation.

Kiss Me Kate is by far the best 3d on that list. It also is one of the best musicals ever made into a movie.

Hi presidentevil,

Wow that's a tough one, depending also on taste. Only watched a few. But assuming you love all genres I'll put then in order of my own enjoyment

Tied:. Black Panther and Kiss me Kate. Both great but Kate is great musical and has fantastic classic 3D with pop outs and 50s Technicolor. Panther might be best marvel since Thor with great 3d but without popouts. Yourchoice.

The Maze - amazing 3d

Justice league - a little bit of a let down since characters were more marvel comedic instead of DC dark.

Pacific rim 2 - you read my thoughts

Hey fatboy,
Ultraman Saga
I got it from Amazon Japan. It doesn’t have any subtitles, which I already knew going in. I’m hoping to watch it this upcoming week and hopefully post more details then.

With all the talk about Kiss Me Kate, I'm watching it again in bits and pieces. This time on the 3D video Wizard. It still looks great even on that device.

Just watched Sector 7 from Asia.

Not bad for a who survives monster movie. Held more of my interest as the film progressed since it did build up in suspense.

Ordinarily one of those watch once only films but the 3D was excellent and really makes it worth having if one enjoys that genre. Plenty of depth with occasional pop outs.

FINAL DESTINATION 5 3/5
3D: 4.75/5
AQ: 4.5/5

These are guilty pleasure movies of mine. This was good but nothing will ever top the 2nd movie for me in the creativity of some of the death scenes. The audio was good and the added Neural X to the track works pretty nicely for the big opening. The 3D was overall very impressive, I guess being natively shot in the format helps too. Just a big of ghosting observed on my set in a few darkey scenes with flicker lights on objects. Still those pop out where great and right in your face. . .along with going threw theirs. A must purchase for 3D enthusiasts
