20-9 vs Big 12

The SEC's dominance is still obvious.

That being said, even if there is an SEC bias on ESPN/CBS/etc., it's valid. It's warranted. Yes, OU played a hell of a game last night and proved to be the much better team, but that doesn't mean the SEC isn't still the top conference. Will every SEC team beat every other team they match up against? Hell no. But our bowl/OOC/BCSNC records speak for themselves. Yes, the middle- and lower-tier teams like to share in the SEC pride because they struggle against tough SEC teams and they tend to win their OOC match-ups more often than not.

The SEC is like a closely knit family. We take pride in each other and we all bring something to the table.

Who gives a &$%# if the SEC is the best conference, I mean seriously... Conference ceases to matter after the Championships are played and while it ought to show up in strength of schedule results it really means nothing outside of that. Teams still need to perform. Bama is probably a better team than Oklahoma, but they weren't last night. That's why you play the game, and that's why 'the better conference' means nothing on game day.

It's Auburn-FSU for the Championship. 2 schools in recruiting hotbeds, it would be a crime if they weren't good.

Notre Dame wasn't nearly the cream of the crop last year, and two years ago the SEC played itself during a year in which the entire conference had one good OOC win pre-bowls.

They can only play who was put in front of them admittedly, but the entire system goes out of its way to favor the SEC at the moment. Thank god the BCS BS is over this year.

You seriously think the 4 team playoff will curb SEC dominance of the national championship? I doubt it. If the 4-team playoff were this season there would be 2 SEC teams in it. In fact I'll bet that will be the case in quite a few seasons.

That was an amazing performance by the Sooners. I told my wife after the first series they looked like they were playing for the national championship. Their offensive output didn't really surprise me, having watched Alabama give up a ton of yards and points to Texas A&M and Auburn, films from which games are probably still scattered all over the offices back in Norman.

What did surprise me was the turnovers and sacks. OU's offense was electric, but Mike Stoops deserves a huge amount of credit for figuring out how to get to McCarron. That last sack/touchdown was only a four man rush.

And I was glad to see Bama came to play, unlike the 2009 Sugar Bowl. Unfortunately for them, Oklahoma was simply the better team.

How do you figure that? They have 3 championships in 4 years this is the same as Utah game where nobody cared if they won or lost it was championship or bust, this isn't UMD or Baylor that dreams of just a BCS game... This was a better performance but I doubt the effort by bama would have been the same had this been the NC between the two games vs. a random bowl game.

Nothing official yet on Golden, just that he's agreed to interview with Penn State. They also want to interview James Franklin and Mike Munchak (if he's fired by the Titans, which should be known by tonight when he meets with the owner), so it's possible even if Golden is willing to leave that he'll be offered the job.

Al Golden to Penn State has been confirmed but not announced. EDIT: the Penn State people are backtracking on this .
