Those Turtles covers are insane!
![]() I'm going to want to download them all even though I can't possibly actually use them all! (plus it's going to be a tough decision on whether or not I replace the custom covers that I'm currently using). I actually have the comic adaptations of the second and third movies from when I was a kid somewhere in an old box of comics, so seeing those covers used for the movie covers is pretty awesome. Excellent work! ![]() |

Quite some time ago, I did a custom classic NES style cover and box for one of my favorite movies - Scott Pilgrim vs the World. It was just a fun side project, just for me, because I love classic NES. It went viral, with movie and video game sites talking about it (including Gizmodo, Kotaku, Collider and many others). Even the film's director, Edgar Wright, tweeted and blogged about it.
Well I decided to start a similar project for another movie I absolutely LOVE - Wreck-It Ralph. Here's the start of the project, including my original Scott Pilgrim cover. I'll post more as I move along! ![]() |

![]() I remember your Scott Pilgrim cover and it ending up on the director's blog! That was awesome as well! ![]() Your Ralph cover is equally awesome, if not better! I hope the spines of both covers match up with the titles, studio logos, etc. in the same place. That would make the whole thing even more awesome! I've been a gamer pretty much all of my life, and I love both of these movies. They are probably my two favorite movies that are in some way about video games without directly being an adaptation of a video game. In fact in a couple of weeks I'm going to be having endoscopic sinus surgery and will be off of work for 10 days (the first of which being the day of surgery, and it includes 2 weekends) to recover. I'm supposed to rest and take it easy, so I'm going to be laying in bed watching a lot of Blu-Rays and DVDs. I'm planning on one of these days to have a video game movie marathon including "The Wizard," "Grandma's Boy," and "The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters" on DVD, and "Scott Pilgrim" and "Wreck It Ralph" on Blu-Ray (in that order). I'm not looking forward to the surgery, but the marathon will be fun. ![]() |

Yeah, the title on that Ghostbusters cover is really low. It's a great looking cover otherwise, but the title needs to be moved up a bit. It leaves zero room for error when cutting out the cover from the piece of paper it is printed on. If you are over the line even slightly, you will start cutting into the title.

- the front cover is UNTOUCHED, all I have done with the front-cover is moved the credit block to the backside. - So the title is not touched by me. I have had this to approval on custom maniacs and all they was complaining about was some typing error that I have removed now. |

Personally, I agree with the suggestions. The TT should be moved up slightly and the TT and logo both appear too far to the right. And although Kampar and Co. offer great advice when you are going through the Customaniacs approval process (we've all been there), that doesn't mean you ignore suggestions from everyone else. When I do my covers I post them as WIPs on EFX, and ctaulbee, Imrahil and other EFX members provide invaluable help, but I also take into consideration advice and suggestions posted by users on this forum. |

I'm with Dynamo and Imrahil on the TT: it almost looks like it was positioned to be locked with the right corner instead of the center line.
The ghost logo looks like it might have a similar issue with not being properly centered. The image itself might be centered but it might look better if it was centered according to just the red "no" symbol. I know you're a big proponent for using original poster art for covers, and maybe nobody else shares that sentiment than I do. However, when emulating original poster/cover art, you need to be willing to make compromises and sacrifices with composition for the sake of aesthetic concerns, since the dimensions of a Blu-ray cover are so different to those of posters and VHS covers. I think your Ghostbusters cover, conceptually and composition-wise, is good, but some of the elements themselves are a little too large and threaten to crowd each other. You might want to consider shrinking the logo and TT down a little and have a bit more empty space on the sides, for the sake of a better presentation. |
