The nostalgic SW music.

I really like all of J.J. Abrams films so far, but this seems pure fan service, giving them the same old.

Harrison Ford looks older than Yoda, and clearly belongs in a retirement home, not in a SW film. That was the most awful moment of the whole thing.

I am still going to see it, obviously, but I am not expecting originality.

At least GL gave us something completely fresh and expanded the SW universe beyond anyone's imagination.

Just my 2 cents.

Disney is hell.

Also: This Christmas??? SW and Christmas feels so wrong on so many levels, it's not even funny.
GL game us something completely fresh?????

So first order, not Empire then?
A New fanatical sect of the empire from the power vacuum?

Respect your opinion friend, but I'm already liking the look of this movie far more than GL's prequels. Tonally, and thematically, this looks like it'll be truer to the original movies than the prequels were.

The PQ trilogy was hindered by Lucas himself. He was so close to the project, he was blinded by the crappy dialogue, stupid characters, and the complete overuse of green screen/cgi.

I fully believe had the scripts gone through revisions by other writers and the films themselves been made by different directors with Lucas strictly in a producer role, the PQ trilogy had the chance if being on the same level as the OT trilogy.

The Jedi/Sith light saber battles are proof if that by themselves.

If anyone wants to know why the prequels seemed lifeless and uninspired just watch the behind the scenes features on AOTC and ROTS. Lucas sits there behind his giant HD monitors far removed from the actual "set" drinking his coffee watching and says great, or lets try that again. There was almost zero real interaction between him and the actors, and I'm not making this up, watch the special features! i think those movies would've turned out better had he just let someone else with passion direct them, because it's obvious by AOTC he had none (maybe it was all the negative comments about Jar Jar and racism on Phantom Menace????).

Default "The Force Awakens" flying billboard!

ANA Dreamliner jet painted like R2-D2.

“Star Wars” fans and aviation geeks, hold on to your butts: Japan’s All Nippon Airways and Disney's “Star Wars” franchise are joining forces, and painting a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to look like R2-D2.

The announcement Thursday of the cross-promotion came as “Star Wars” fans gathered in Anaheim, Calif., to hear about the latest developments from cast and crew ahead of the December release of the sequel “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Here, these are 2 frames from the trailer were the light sabre is being given. If you look to the far right, you can just make out it has an alien face with big eyes.

So it looks like Finn will use Luke's lightsaber much in the same way Luke used his Father's lightsaber.

Also why would Kylo need Luke's lightsaber to enter the Sith tomb???

2 theories i have on that is:

1) When Anakin turned to the darkside...maybe Palpatine hid the key to the tomb in his hilt seeing is how powerful Anakin was he had no issues with someone else discovering it even though Obi-wan took Anakin's lightsaber...Palpatine either forgot or knew no one would ever find out and let it go.

2) Could Obi-Wan have during his self imposed exile come across the key in his travels and hid it in the hilt thus altering the handle to what it looks like in ANH..(CAUSE IT'S CLEARLY DIFFERENT DESIGN IN ROTS.)

Either way the main question is how does Kylo know about it?

Could Palpatine have kept a journal with the info needed, or could he have bumped into Sydow's character and got the info from him?

Either way there must be something very important in that tomb for Kylo to want to get in there so bad.

Daisy Ridley mentioned during the panel that

and I think she said (the planet she mentioned), was were they first meet. Looking at the trailer, it looks like
[Show spoiler]Finn sees something pretty awful, enough for him to change his allegiances and go AWOL.
It will be interesting to see how the New Empire is portrayed in the movie, it looks like they're still drafting and quite a force to be reckoned with!

My first thought was that it looked like Kit Fisto. So could be a new Nautolan character based on those big dark eyes.

Bit worried about the rebels still being rebels, or "the resistance." I feel like Return of the Jedi (especially the special edition) definitely implied the Empire was dead and the Republic would be reformed. I guess we'll have to see how they handle it.
When we last saw our heroes they were living it up on Endor. Throughout the galaxy statues of the Emperor were being brought down. We all assumed the Old Republic would come back and the Empire would die out.

How silly do we feel now? Peace. Ha. It's never that easy. There was a short period of calm before the storm. The Empire reformed into the First Order and the Republic was not going to allow them to take over again so they formed the Resistance. Add to that some radical Sith and some force sensatives and we have a new Trilogy.

By the way, anyone see or know anything about 3-PO?
