Yeah, Strong hates the media, wonder how he'll like it during the season when he has to spend 6 hours straight every Monday filming things for the Longhorn Network, plus cameras at every practice and most meetings. Still, I can't fault him for taking the job. Texas is the richest athletic department in the country, has amazing facilities, and is in the middle of the best recruiting areas. Strong should be able to get Texas back to prominence quickly.

I no longer believe there is any validity to the report from yesterday that Golden was offered the Penn State job and was expected to take it. It's source, Miami's Rivals site, was questionable from the start, but the fact that no other source has reported it shows it's untrue to me. I guarantee you every major Penn State and Miami reporter was calling their sources trying to get confirmation of report and there's little chance that Penn State would be able to keep the offer from leaking further. My guess is the Miami site was hoping to force the issue in an attempt to get Golden to come out and say he was remaining the Miami coach. I think Golden may still be the favorite for the job, but I don't think it's a sure thing he's going to get an offer.

The word right now is Charlie Strong has not come to a decision yet on the Texas job. That is what he has told his staff this morning.

I think he leaves though. With Teddy entering the NFL Draft and Charlie's stock probably never being higher, it would be kinda foolish to pass on this job.

A Miami website says Golden is taking the Penn St job to pressure him to say he's staying? Huh!?! Hey let's make up a rumor that he's leaving to take his dream job. No chance he'd want to then pursue that job thinking he's now in the discussion.....

Strong wants to think about it, so we get the media to blow him up seeking comment about the decision, with the story being that he already accepted (in principal).

Are middle schoolers making these decisions to leak info? Who in their right mind thinks this is a good idea.. Desperate people, that's who.

Not true one iota. The conference as a whole elevates everyone's game and we all share the limelight so to speak. During the regular season, it's a cutthroat business, but OOC, no way.

The only teams in the SEC that you have a winning record against is South Carolina and Missouri. In regards to SC, 90% of those wins came prior to us joining the SEC. All of the wins against Missouri were pre-SEC as well.

The greatest accomplishment in that irrevalent programs history is beating CU multiple times in a row. Like I've said you've never seen it before so you didn't think it was possible. You think this rivalry started 5 years ago but it didn't and it won't stop next year either. It's tough losing that game but I think it's better for the rivalry, I mean at least it can be considered a rivalry now. Before it was a rivalry between a hammer and a nail, CU is the hammer obviously. Enjoy your little run of success and talk your smack and cheer for the real winners of your conference because at the end of the day your school cheer is Go Cocks! Enough said.

I suppose Strong will be the first black head coach Texas ever had. With Sumlin at A&M the top two programs in Texas will have black head coaches for the first time. Very impressive feat.
