Although I am most pleased with the number of Disney animated features that have been released lately, I am NOT a fan of the bundling of theatrical releases with their far inferior direct-to-video sequels. I am even less pleased to see their titles combined on the existing Blu-ray covers. I would love to find custom covers for the following, such that they display ONLY the theatrical movie, with NO mention of the direct-to-video filler that also happens to reside on the disc. Specifically:

Brother Bear
Pocahontas
Mulan
The Fox and the Hound
Atlantis
The Emperor's New Groove

I do not include the dual film releases of the two Fantasias or the Rescuers since all these films were theatrical releases. Also, by looking at the cover for Hunchback (especially the spine), there is no indication that a direct-to-video sequel is included (all to the better!).

What do folks think, and any help out there? Thanks!!

I have a subscription to hirescovers.net, and I have been a big fan of the work of Gutterballs there in regards to his Disney collection. It isn't complete but he is always coming out with more as time goes on.

Rather than list both movies on the cover, it merely lists the TV movie sequel as a Special Feature. This is probably a road that would serve your collection well. Since "Pocahontas" and "Rescuers" are the only such Disney titles I own I'm not inclined to work them myself, but perhaps someone like Nissen would work a commission?
I'm not particularly thrilled with the doubling up of Disney's theatrical movies with their lesser quality straight to video movies (or even just the general doubling up of two movies in the same package... or even worse the same disc). I might even be inclined to do something about it if it wasn't for the fact that I keep all of my Disney movies in their slipcovers for consistency. It's the eternal conflict that I often face.... battling between my love for slipcovers and the desire to replace poorly done official artwork with often superior custom artwork. AHHH!

Awesome! I know I just stated my dislike for keeping more than one movie in the same case, but that doesn't mean that multi-movie artwork is always bad, and this is an example of when it is done right!

This cover would be perfect if the unaltered original versions ever get released.

I just got these today from Metrock, these covers are great. Thank you to the original Artist. I love Box sets but I don't care for the packaging most of the time.

Do any of you custom cover artists that do SW covers have any idea what this font is?

Thanks

also can someone tell me what needs to be different on the custom cover dimensions for a 12.5 standard viva elite case compared to an 11mm case? I assume the spine is the only difference between the 2 cases dimensions so shouldn't the artwork reflect this as well?

I have a fantastic web site you can goto to check what font is being used.

Code:
http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/
Just upload a picture (jpg) of the font and it starts to search, fantastic page that have helped me many times.

damn I must be all confused then lol, I thought that 14 or 15 was UK sized and 12.5 was our standard US viva elite size, but holding in my hands the viva cases feel the same as the black 1mm I just bought, I guess I need to get out some darn calipers lol, I just want to make sure all the custom covers we are getting work for the right cases.

Thanks Imrahil, this stuff is confusing.

Problem comes from me, I guess.
I'm doing a lot of custom covers for Vidjunkie recently (Night of the Living dead '90 with slipcover & '68, Conan with slipcover, Star Wars Special Edition separate covers etc) and I didn't have templates for the US cases...
I wasn't sure if 11mm and 12.5mm cases would impact on the one I'm using so I thought it would be better to ask to you guys who have the habit of those US cases...

By the way, very nice work on the Star Wars Original Trilogy Box Imrahil!
I usually don't like those as I prefer to have a cover for each films I own but I must admit it looks great!!!
