Well I'm really thinking hard about using a different center channel and just can't make up my mind on which one. I might have a chance to get a used C-C100 which we all know would be the best choice but it's only a slight chance. So with that said my other two other choice are the CC-10 in which another member on here said it sounds great with the C series speakers he has as well. The other option is to have eD build me a center with (4) 4" drivers and said it should sound pretty good even though it's not timbre matched. They said even though it's not matched to my fronts unless you have really good hearing it will be hard to tell the difference. They also said even though I'm stepping down to a 4" driver from a 4.5" driver it's to small of a difference to tell.

While that's the logical choice as I have stated above, it's also the least chance of obtaining so that is why I'm leaning toward the other two options.

Erict, I thought the most important thing for speaker timbre matching was having the tweeter match???

I think if you can get the C-C100 you would love it, I love mine, I think it is one of the best speaker in my setup. However, I think the CC10 which may be a little brighter, would be the 2nd best option. And I believe with most people that have told me the CF/CB/CC are brighter, just mean brighter then the C-Series, not Klipsch or Kef or JBL bright, where it really wouldn't match. Plus with your 9-band EQ on your Yamaha, you should be able to tune them pretty close to one another quite easily.

Now, with the 4 4" woofers I don't think that would be an issue either because there are more drivers and it should push quite well. I think there may have to be a little more EQ tweeking, but because the eDs have a warm sound also, they shouldn't be way off.

There are some choices, but if the C-C100 is available, I would try that first.

$460 isn't too bad, considering their limited availability. I paid $350 each for mine. You might keep that one in on your radar, but I think you might be able to find them a little cheaper.

If there's any left from Audioadvisor.com I should pick up the C-50's to complete the 7.1.

Get the C-100 for the Surrounds BTW just like the others stated.

May I just ask what is your motivation to use a different center channel?

C-C50 is not bad of a match but of course bigger drivers on the C-C100 would make it a better choice. Now, has anyone suggested the RC-LCR I beleive it would sound closer to the C-300 than the CC-10 but anyways you have the 9 band EQ on your Yamaha that helps you tweak the frequencies.

I hope you can get your hands on that C-C100 that would be your best buy IMO.

Yeah c-c100 would definitely be the best but not for the ~$300 they go for on Amazon As for the CC-10, I was going to go that route myself until I read a couple of threads where the posters stated that it just didn't match up well with the C series speakers. I'll see if I can find the link.

In case anyone is looking for a sub 290$ for the S10.3 at Audio advisor and it's quite amazing for HT and music 21hz +/-3 db and 200 watts rms. It has a bypass switch and perform as good as many 12 inchers out there.

Callas you heard it in store I think you already shared your apprciation on it.

Great find BigAl. I haven't seen them that cheap since World Wide Stereo was clearing them out for $150 (B Stock). That's where I got mine. I agree, it's a darn good sub for the price.

Well I did get the C-C100 for $100. He only used his Energy setup for four months and ended up buying a Mirage system. He was originally selling the whole system but ended up selling it as separates. I say I got a pretty good deal all in all
