Sadly in a year or less, it will either be discontinued and support for it stopped so Apple can replace it with yet the "next big thing"...or should I say next big thing they copy from.

i love my echo. i get my daily news feed from it every morning. also, when i upgrade my dvr, i'll be able to control it with the echo. as well, i'm looking into getting some philips hue bulbs so i can control the lighting with it. i want to get a nest thermostat controller, but i can wait a bit on that as they're not really cheap.

I use my Google Home and Mini to control my lights and my TV/"home theater" set up.

It's cool to be able to lay in bed and just say "Hey Google, watch Netflix" "....fast forward", "...watch Channel 6", "...power off TV"

it's a really handy device and cost a fraction of what that Apple one is going for and does more I'd be willing to bet.

Same here. I have a number of shows I follow and nearly all of them have gone into reruns for almost the entire month. I don't care about the Olympics. I'd rather have my shows to keep watching. I know networks are scared about having just temporary dips in ratings because of competition from the Olympics but having some alternate programming to watch for those who aren't interested would be nice.

While on nightshift during the months of November, December and January, I never see the sun or daylight. Now we're getting more light and I see a bit of sun before bed and when I awake.
My next n/s in April will be a lot more and the one after that in June, I won't see any darkness at all.

I wish that when you edited a post, it wouldn't say that you edited the post. For some reason, I just like the cleaner look of post and signature and nothing else like, "Last edited by..." Silly I know but it just kind of...even bugs is too strong of a word. Anyway...

As an unemployed graduate I, along with my girlfriend, have the possibility of working as English teachers at a kindergarten in Northeast China.. Free accommodation, two meals a day and $2000 a month (almost tax free). Its always really scary to do something as drastically different as this but I think we just might do it. Its for a full year but we get some vacation time to check out the area and go home for Christmas. If things dont work out we can always leave and consider it an experience..
