For this dude too.

The MCU is probably the only film series I will ever double dip on; I want steelbooks for Phase 2, and then the inevitable Phase 2 Box Set, especially because I get the feeling that they realized they should put some new bonus features in the box set to get people to want to buy them, as opposed to how the Phase 1 box set took away IM1 and IM2 bonus discs (WTF?)

Perhaps that is why the releases of IM3 and Thor 2 are so light on features?

I am a movie geek and not at all a comic geek, but its like they're making their own comic book runs with these movies.... the movie geek in me LOVES them and is pretty much only looking forward to Cap 2 and Guardians.

Cannot wait to start a steelbook\limited edition collection. So far I only have the IM2 Steel and the IM1 facemask version and the TIH green slip version; went looking for the BB Steel but only went on Saturday when they were all sold out.

Oh, well..... at least I learned my lesson for the (hopefully) Cap 3D steelbook. I will be there Day One no matter what.

This movie was okay; I'm not a huge Thor fan so it felt more like a filler, just a bridge to get us between Thor 2 and Avengers 2. It was nothing special the way (for me) IM3 was, The Avengers was, Cap 1 was (Cap 1 captured the essence of the character so well... he's my favorite Avenger)

Most likely will change upon Blu-Ray viewing.

And to whoever was disappointed with this, it is fairly obvious that stuff was cut out; you could tell from interviews with Alan Taylor that he was forced to cut about 10-15 minutes of characterization and dialogue scenes, especially those involving Malekith. Word is he was understandably pissed off.

Would extra dialogue have saved the movie though? It's quite dour and downbeat, aside from Kat Jennings' trademark ditziness (which itself is getting a bit stale) and a few Whedon-esque quips, and Malekith makes for an incredibly dull villain.

Loki is awesome, but he's got so much malevolent energy compared to everyone else it's like he's been parachuted in from another film entirely, if that makes sense. He's almost too good, and if they do Thor 3 then he simply must be promoted back to full bad guy duty.

The scene where body parts and other stuff are getting sucked in and out of gravitational vortexes or whatever were downright irritating. Stephen Hawking was vomiting from his wheelchair.

The bad guys were just jammed in there too. Dark Elves? Like Drizzt D'ourden from The Dark Elf novels?

This film should have picked up right where the first one left off with much mroe attention paid to Jane & Thor. I dunno.... it was just meh. And, as always, several extended action scenes that simply fail to wow you anymore and hardly have a context worth caring about. Oh yeah, just like Iron Man 3 it had way too many "silly" moments that took what was supposed to be a fairly serious situation and make it all wink-wink funny.

Oh well. If they make a third one and get back to what made the first one good then great. Otherwise, its a one-film franchise as so many end up being.

Agreed on most, but disagree on Jane.

Natalie Portman was horribly miscast and looks ridiculous next to Jamie Alexander. It makes Thor look like an idiot.

Agreed. Anything involving Jane kills the momentum.

Plus, many who still use DVDs only buy the DVD edition unless they have a eye toward the future. Sadly, many don't or would rather go directly to streaming.

I wonder has Disney ever included DCs in Combo Packs outside North America. I always assumed they were not included due to rights issues (since they need to cleared by country).
Yes several Disney releases included Digital Copies but they died a quick death, think they used to call them Triple Play Editions as you had the BD, DVD and DC.

I'm still not loving this film, but the same bits I liked in theaters, I am liking on Blu-ray. I thought all the fight scenes were really well choreographed and performed, I could watch them over and over... and over. Hopefully we get even more next Thor go-around.

I liked it in the theater and my second watch on blu didn't disappoint.

I ended up with the Target cover by default because three different BB's had no 3D's at all left, Frys was sold out, at my second target I got the last one luckily with flawless slip despite the coffin of doom. I do like the slip better IRL than in the pics of it so I'm not unhappy. Of course, my heart skipped a beat when the jacktard meathead at checkout shoved his finger into the cutout on the back and yanked the thing out of the coffin. I'm hoping the fear in his eyes when I yelped at him will make him engage more than one brain cell the next time he is handling a customer's product.

Got the metal variant print this morning that is redeemable when you enter the code...very nice. It's really metal and it's thick probably the same thickness as a silver dollar. Mine is 166.

Watched this last night. I liked it about the same as the first one I think. Better than the last two Iron Man movies for sure. Could have used a bit more character development but the action scenes were pretty awesome. Maybe Natalie wasn't the best choice for the role but she looks cute as hell in these movies and I could watch her all day.

Picked up the Target exclusive yesterday and they actually price matched the $21.96 on Amazon. Was pleasantly surprised on that and looking forward to watching it with the mrs. She was bummed one of her co-workers saw this before she did

Should've been left in there, they made Thor look puny if he didn't have a hammer
