As long as we're peeving about persistence: my GoT discs don't remember subs. Every time I fire up the disc, I have to start an episode and go into the subtitles menu, find that it is always off, then select my choice (english).
This is true even if the disc had not been ejected, but I'm simply turning the player on the next day to play the next episode on the same disc. It's lazy programming. As a software developer, I'm not being an armchair critic here. Chris |

I know it was suggested to rip the disks, but 4K discs are too large and I don't want to deal with Handbrake and compressing files. I did rip TV shows and movies that were on blu-ray since there was no resume feature. Yep, I'm lazy and I want my resume ![]() Last edited by Kizzo; 11-18-2020 at 03:55 PM. |

I'm not sure why the player is not able to always auto-select the correct subtitles according to the setting in the player. Is there some "feature" needed on the blu-ray disc for the auto-select to work? Seems strange, since the player should be able to see what subtitle tracks are on the disc, and then select the one that matches the setting in the player. I.e. it should be possible to design a solution in the player SW that is independent of the disc, so it should work for all discs, right? ![]() |

When playback does not start from the resume point where you last stopped playing. - The resume point may be cleared from memory depending on the disc – you disconnect the USB device. – you play other content. – you turn off the player. |

That happens with my X800M2 and with other discs sometimes too. You don't need to restart the player though, just press stop and restart the disc. I've found that if I wait a few seconds after it loads up before pressing right or left on the top menu it won't happen. But if you start trying to navigate the menu right away after loading it's more likely to happen. Just seems like a bug with the X800M2.

Is this officially the most problematic release ever? I was wanting to get this eventually, but man, I feel like I'd have to do a speed watch of the entire series just to make sure I don't have any bad discs before the return window closes.

You think they would do a replacement program or should have never stacked discs. This will be the last HBO 4K set I buy without knowing if the discs are stacked or not.
