Nolan is a hit or miss director for me. Insomnia is great, his first two Batman movies are good. However Dunkirk was pretty boring and toothless, Tenet was a complete wasted opportunity and honestly felt more like a pretentious Michael Bay movie, and The Dark Knight Rises is an absolute joke of a movie due to its completely terrible script.
Tim Burton is hit and miss for me too (Alice in Wonderland [2010] and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory [2005] are both terrible movies), but I honestly like more of Burton movies than I do Nolan. I'll gladly take Sweeney Todd and Ed Wood over Tenet or Dunkirk any day of the week. Also, Batman Returns is honestly the best live action Batman movie in my opinion, as it understands the best the tragedy of Batman and how his villains often are reflections of him. I really don't think any other live action Batman movie has understood that aspect of character yet, only Returns got it right. |

OBJECTIVITY MAN! No feelings will be felt! No opinion will be formed until awards season is over! No professional critic will go uncited! |

1917 won more awards. Doesn't that mean it's better since it's awards. Achievements? ![]() And no. The Dark Knight Rises came out in 2012. Alice in Wonderland was 2010. It is a literal impossibility it made a billion first. See, that's how facts and objectivity work? |

Opinions vary. Oh wait, *checks other thread* you enjoyed every MCU film, that explains something. |
