The following is a bit of a passion project I've been working on, mostly fueled by some OCD tendencies and some general all-around annoyance.

The TV show "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" was shot on SD video for its first five seasons, and although season five DID receive a Blu-ray release (which was upconverted), I highly doubt any of the first four seasons will receive this treatment.

It's killing me that, because I keep DVDs and Blu-rays separated, all of the seasons of this show will never be next to each other on the shelf for me. So what I set out to do was create Blu-ray packaging for seasons 1-4, and to make it match perfectly with my own slightly-altered packaging for seasons 5-8 (and for as long as it goes on.)

I will probably make the cover art next, but my first endeavor was to create slipcovers. Here is what I have for seasons 3 through 6 so far.

[Show spoiler]

I'm absolutely torn on what to do with seasons 1 and 2 though. They came packaged together for the DVD release, so I only have one piece of cover art to work with, and I'd rather avoid giving them the same cover. I want to separate them if possible. However, if I keep them together, then I'll have to alter the spine slightly and it won't align perfectly with the others. I'll also have to find a good way to combine the big number 1 and 2 on the spine, which is annoying. Ugh.

Any suggestions on what to do for seasons 1 and 2 and what I could use for cover art? I have a few ideas, and I might just settle on using the cover art from the 1/2 combo pack for both seasons 1 and 2. Hmmm.

Also, do you guys think I should make the spine for season 3 just a flat yellow like the rest?
guh, how can you put a big DO NOT STEAL watermark over copyright pictures you do not own?

Hmmm...I wonder how the original artist of the artwork you use would feel about your big bold red warning.

EDIT: I see that in the interim of when I loaded the page and wrote my post that Rusty100 already noted the fact that its a little ridiculous to state "Do Not Steal" on images you do not own.

- The Social Network
- Step Up Revolution

or is there a website with these covers already made where i could print them out? what sizes would they be? any information? if you could do it and would like to be paid for it, then PM me. but if anybody could also let me know how to do it, that'd be a great second option. Thanks.

It's still a copy...and he doesn't own that artwork...

Sure, we all use other people's artwork when we make custom covers. I make adjustments to theatrical posters to make them appropriate for blu-ray covers, including cutting them up and reassembling them and using history brushes, content aware tools to make them textless and fit a frame, but at the end of the day portions of that material is the result of someone else's work.

I would however never have the audacity to put a big red banner over it saying "Do Not Steal"...

Cahleb...PM Nissen and see if he can help.
As for printing them out, the program UndercoverXP (which is a free download) will size artwork to be printed at the appropiate size. Its at: http://www.undercoverxp.tk/

I just noticed that the 1976 Lee Marvin-Roger Moore action movie "Shout at the Devil" is to be released on Blu-ray:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Shout...Blu-ray/74773/

What makes this interesting is that I have been quietly working on a custom cover for this movie for awhile, never dreaming that this movie (which never had a good DVD release stateside) would actually get a Blu-ray release.

Since the new edition was just released I was able to compile the full list of supplements and finish my Enter the Dragon cover:

I'm considering making it available if there's interest, depending on how the uploading process at Customaniacs works.

EDIT: Strike that, I'm leaning toward EuphoricFX.

Not sure but my take was when you asked you were shouting. Maybe ask around or send some PM's and you might get a list of all the custom Cover Sites.

Here's a custom I made to go along with the Scream Factory titles for JC's The Thing, can't take full credit though, I used a custom from R1DB for the top... I like it a lot though!

(All of the films after Walt's death will have either 'Walt Disney Pictures' or 'Walt Disney Pictures Presents,' I haven't decided which I like better yet which is why The Lion King and Tarzan have different headers.)
I don't really like the Tarzan one. Since it lacks color. It's just that the move is so colorful. I would use the poster of him standing on that tree branch alone.. The one that resembles the brave one. I know it's not concept art, but it's beautiful to look at.

As for the lion king... There is way too much going on in the cover. I feel that a better image to use would be the mufasa as clouds one (the concept art, not scene) or the one used in the back cover.

Fantasia is perfect.

Your covers are incredible and are so much better than what we are getting. I can't wait to see your next ones!

Just looking for opinions. What made you prefer one over the other?

I don't want to speak for Thomas Guycott, but I would venture a guess that it involves the approval porcess for customaniacs.

As you know Nissen, the mods over at customaniacs don't just let people upload covers, they have to be assured that the people know what they are doing.

I had to go through the process with several covers before I was granted the ability to post without mod approval.

EuphoricFX also allows users to upload covers for free (provided the user has posted a set number of posts in their forums, customanics requires credits that can be obtained by posting material.

Whichever one you decide on, please let us know. I'm getting this disc and really don't care for the studio art.

I agree with you on The Lion King... I think I'll be starting over from scratch on that one. i'm just not pleased with the way it is turning out at all.

Regarding Tarzan though, a lot of the concept art is actually in black and white, most of it actually. I played around with colorizing it a bit, laying textures or patterns over it, and in the end, it always looked better as it was originally, just black and white. I thought about using that poster, actually, because I think it's beautiful as well, but I haven't decided if posters fit in with the idea yet. Some of the 90s films have really great posters, but we'll see!
