Actually I found an Athlon Sports preseason 2014 ranking they put out a couple weeks ago and they had UCLA #9.

You are right about Georgia constantly getting ranked far too high in the early polls.

I don't think Benjamin sticks around at FSU, he's a guaranteed top-10 pick. He's going to be the next Randy Moss in the NFL.

I doubt it changes much. We still play in a crap conference and our state is dominated by the Big 3. It will take sustained success over several years for us to turn recruiting around.

Same here, I'm hoping the Brett Hundley return lures in some recruits. I mean Mora has done tremendous with Neuheisel recruits, and got a nice class last year. Hope to build on that and be a contender. As nice as it is to beat Usc back to back you need to start looking big picture.

Yup. #11 on that ESPN one. I mean seriously. Their top QB ever leaves on a 8-5 season, but they're the #11 team next year? The only times they've finished close to their preseason rankings was when they were in the lower half.

That rating is unfair to them. Middle SEC team should mean top 10 team

Curious thing when looking up info on Georgia's preseason vs final: only 3 teams have gone from unrated to top 3 in AP poll since 1989: Georgia Tech in 1990 (#2, co-national champions), Penn State in 2005 (#3) and Utah in 2008 (#2).

Several more have gone to top 5.
#4: Stanford in 2010, Oregon St in 2000, Missouri in 2007, Auburn in 1993, Arizona in 1998 (they then went from #4 in 1999 to unranked).
#5: Boise State in 2006, BYU in 1996, West Virginia in 2005, UCLA in 1997, Tennessee in 1989

Let's not forget about Georgia's defense, which shoulders most of the blame, giving up 42.2 points per game in those five losses. I see nothing to indicate improvement next year on that side of the ball.
