Would have opted for the BFI version had I know this. Ah well, lesson learned! Still, one welcome upgrade from the dvd version

And how about it's brilliant sequel as well?

All 3 cuts in 4K scanned remastering supervised by George Romero himself? plus every extra from the 4-disc UE DVD boxset especially a new documentary on the pop culture phenomenon this movie influenced as well as Night?
Would be cool! I wonder if Arrow would pick this up? Seeing as they did release these before.

Either would be happy for either of them to pick it up and re release

Dawn of the Dead might be one of the very few instances where I enjoyed the sequel more than the predecessor. I still can't get that gorgeous colour palette out of my head.

Anyway, I'd really like to see Criterion pick up Wake in Fright.

We might be getting another remake of The Wages of Fear!

This could be pretty exciting, I think, since the story is caters well to any time period.

I actually think we have reason to believe that this may one day happen. Wasn't there a cryptic statement from someone recently on this subject? Something to do with Scorsese who is overseeing the restoration?

And wouldn't seeing the rich colors of Dawn of the Dead look better than ever on Criterion 4K BD?

Yes indeed, they are doing the restoration and who wants Criterion to release it?

Default Last Tango in Paris

I’ve seen Last Tango in Paris twice, but only as recently as 10 years ago, maybe. I admired the artistry and Brando is as good as it gets. I have the DVD at home and should watch it again some time. I don’t know if I’d find the dialogue
[Show spoiler]about the stick of butter or Maria Schneider playing soccer w/ a certain body part as funny as I did when I was just north of 20
.

I hope they release Ran and Memories of Murder, 2 foreign films I think deserve the treatment and the extras would be nice

Since I'm only at a 60% view rate for my Criterion Collection, no day one purchases for me. Maybe if I get that number up to 75%.

It takes so much less time to buy a film than it does to watch a film. Not enough hours in the day.

I wouldn't hold your breath on Ran, but you can always grab a copy of the oop Criterion dvd for the extras (although most of them made the transition to the Studio Cancel blu).

Off topic, Has anyone gotten any responses lately from Jon Mulvaney in regards to defective discs? I emailed him last week since I want to ship mine to them and hoping they still have replacement discs available. So far I have not heard anything from him. Thank in advance.

I worry about my copy of Walkabout thanks to this forum. I bought it when it first came out, and so far, my disc seems fine. It's now one of my favorite films, so it would be a shame if the disc died one day.

Agree. ...and I have one of the smaller collections here, too.

But for Apu.. I'm so in on "Day 2!"

Day 2 purchase for me! woo hoo!

Am I the only one who's seen every Criterion film released on Blu-ray thus far (minus The Apu Trilogy)?

Still to watch:
2/5 November releases (The Apu Trilogy, Ikiru)
4/4 December releases (Burroughs, Downhill Racer, Jellyfish Eyes, Speedy)
3/5 January releases (The American Friend, Bitter Rice, Lady Snowblood)
3/5 February releases (Death by Hanging, The Emigrants/The New Land, I Knew Her Well)

I doubt you're the only one, but that doesn't make it any less impressive.
