You guys suck. I only ened up raiding once the past 2 weeks. I need about 20 more Shards to get my Titan to 32, then I'll finally complete the trifecta.

Leave it to my brother to not notice the obvious, while always knowing the really obtuse stuff. He's been complaining that he's got 200 of several items and that he can't pick up more. I said "why don't you put some in the vault to make physical space on the item screen? I have 1 stack of 200 spinmetal and a new stack of 3 in my inventory because I broke down 2 stacks of non Titan materials."

After a long pause he said "I can't believe it's that simple."

Your inventory has a max amount per stack of 200. Say spinmetal or blooms. If your inventory already has the max number of item stacks in it (it's either 8 or 12) and your spinmetal is at 200 pieces you cannot pick up anymore. The only way you can is to get rid of one of the other stacked items to start a second stack of spinmetal. So you can either destroy non-class items (I'm a Titan and had some hadronic essence stacked, which is useless for that class) or put them in the vault. Then you could start another stack of spinmetal.

I always keep my "main" stack of material in the vault so I can easily get to it with any character. One slot for each 200 stack of spin metal, bloom, iron and helium. Anything over that I just keep on the individual character, replenishing the vault stack when it gets low.
