REJOICE!

Top Gun (1986)

Though a wag might be tempted to call this Tony Scott film “The Testosterone Chronicles,” the Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer production actually comprises a deft portrait of mid-1980s America, when politicians promised “Morning in America Again,” and singers crooned “God Bless the U.S.A.” The U.S. Navy, for one, did not complain: applications to naval aviation schools soared in part as a result of this relentless, pulsating film famed for its vertiginous fighter-plane sequences. Scott, always most at home when crafting slick, visually arresting action-set pieces with distinctive flair, delivers on all fronts. Among others, director Christopher Nolan has highlighted “Top Gun” for the clear influence of the film’s celebrated visual style on future filmmakers. Tom Cruise here graduated to the top echelon of in-demand actors, aided by his good looks, cocky attitude, omnipresent smile, and brazen attempts to woo and secure steamy personal time with (at first amused and later swooning) civilian instructor Kelly McGillis.

It should be a part of a volleyball themed box set.

Just found this page with screencaps of the Spanish edition of Viridiana, while it looks like a slight processing similar to the non criterion editions of Don't Look Now was applied, it is not as bad, and seems to indicate that the source is already very good, what are you waiting Criterion?

http://www.mundodvd.com/capturas_blu...divisa-121800/

That spanish edition is more than a year old

Lol, but I am still waiting for Criterion, the quality could still be improved without that processing, also it costs like 10 EUR to ship one movie from Amazon.es

The Edward Yang film will make me happy enough, but it sure would be nice to have any Buñuel film upgraded or something from that Almodóvar vault.

It's been asked a million times already, but to those with large Criterion sections in your collections- do you find it easier to organize by alphabetical or by spine number?

Does one refer to a movie by its name, or its number?

I organize mine by feeling, then by weight.

[Show spoiler]Seriously, mine are alphabetically shelved among my other movies so that when I'm looking for one it is easy to find.

answer this question and you'll have your answer -

I took a quick peak at your collection. Off the top of your head, what is the spine number for Charade?
