Boyhood, if true, will be the release of the month for me.

I'm happy to consider it one of the greatest films of the century and possibly of all-time.

All-time? Wow. I like the film better than most of the posters a few pages earlier do, but that's ridiculously high praise, man. Oh well, I respect your resolve, though.

As an aside, I can't believe how much older Ellar Coltrane looks now. This kid is probably almost 20 years my junior and he looks like he could be my older brother. In contrast, Ethan Hawke still looks like a goddamn stud. Damn him.

And a couple of Criterion titles: Seconds (BD/DVD) and Symbiopsychotaxiplasm (DVD). Oh, and Ghostbusters, if you want to count laserdiscs.

I wonder if Vidor's Our Daily Bread being on the list will prompt B2MP to finally release it on BD/DVD (it's been listed on their site as a pre-order for the past two years).

I'm absolutely not kidding

Sometimes I'll cheat a little bit on chronology to keep directors together but that's okay because when I sort chronologically (I sort the non-Criterions that don't fall into any of my genre categories this way too) I'm basically just looking to group things by decade anyway.

Not sure if I will double dip, as I prefer the original one sheet slipcover...

meh, I thought it was okay. The whole 12 years gimmick never really impressed me, even while watching it. Hell, the Rocky series is still being made so you can see his story unfold as well over the years.

Directors absolutely have to be together.

Unless they have a different packaging type, that creates problems.

Blue Is the Warmest Color was released by Criterion just nine months (almost to the day) after its initial screening at Cannes, and only four months (actually to the day) after its first, limited, non-festival US release.

Great audio commentary too and I should re-upload it.
From their LD-only catalog, I'd also want (leaving aside a ton of titles currently owned by Warner or already released by someone else):

Once Were Warriors
Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?
Miracle in Milan
A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies
Z
Crash
El Cid
Montenegro

Babette's Feast is my new go-to Thanksgiving movie. So wonderful.
I usually watch The Ice Storm around thanksgiving but held off as it was a little too warm to get me in the mood to watch it. But it is playing right now--what a beautiful film.

well this one's pretty easy to understand actually. You see everyone at Criterion is just waking up about now because someone who got a copy of Eraserhead with 2 dented corners from the Flash sale spiked the egg nog at today's Criterion office X-mas party.
sad but true.
