I've had close calls, like the disc falling out of the case and actually hitting it on its way out, but no scratches at all.

I don't let others handle my disk, that way it doesn't get scratched.

Nope - never, because I'm not one of those idiots who rips out the disc from its case with their guitar pick fingernails, gives it to the cat as a scratching post and then tries jamming the disc in vertically rather than horizontally & then finding out its actually a VCR they're putting the disc into so they have to dig it out with a knife

That's what seems to happen to the discs for rental at my local Blockbuster
