Warner has lost me as a customer as I refuse to buy the book. I want my movies to all look the same in my oak wall unit. They need to look out for their customers and offer the movies in both cases.

And if Fox's track record is any indication, in a few months, "The Planet of the Apes" series of films will also be available in separate cases and probably a lot cheaper. I have no problem waiting on some of these titles because there is so much being released between now and next spring that my budget just couldn't handle it anyway. I also find that in just a few weeks after release, many itles show up used in various local resale stores. Last edited by AaronSCH; 08-11-2008 at 11:09 PM. |

Warner, if anything, is stubborn about their packaging choices. Everyone remembers the dreaded and awful snapper dvd case they stuck with years after everyone else in the industry had dropped them (of course they had a financial interest in that case). If people continue to avoid these digibooks Warner might eventually wise up.
They might have been tolerable if the digibooks were the same size as a standard Blu-ray case, but obviously Warner purposely made them bigger to stand out on crowded retail shelves over the regular cases. |

What does that mean? We are just asking that these titles be made available in standard keep case packaging as well. Every studio has offered multiple types of packaging so there is no reason they can't offer those who dislike them a choice. It doesn't have to be a zero-sum game. I encourage those who do not like the cardboard cases to refrain from making a purchase.

Initially, I didn't care but as I've gotten a few more, it has become more unsightly. They also don't work as well with the media racks I just got. So, I'd prefer a standard case option but I don't dislike the digibooks enough to skip a release over it.
I voted no. |

If Warner was smart they would have said these digibooks are limited editions and after a certain limited run for each title would be no more. It could work just like the studios use steelbook dvd packaging. Then collectors would have gone out and snapped them up and the people who hate digibook packaging could get a regular release.
