The way I see it: collectibles are meant to be enjoyed so keeping them locked in a dungeon from prying hands seems to be pointless to me.

Just out of curiosity: has any investor here never opened up a single steelbook?

Impressive.

Honestly, I would not be able to keep any of the above mentioned sealed because my curiosity would take over and I'd have to look inside.

I keep them sealed until I feel compelled to open them; either to watch or just feel like opening them. (Don't get me wrong, I still cringe when I do this ) I think I've opened 3 so far. The rest are still sealed.

I usually try to buy 2x of each, and watch the amaray if I have it, otherwise I open one, and keep the other for trading, sealed, to keep the value up.

It depends. Some copies I haven't unsealed due to the fact that I already have a viewing copy. But most of them I've opened and watched since they're the only copies of a movie I have.

yes, I stare lovingly at mine sometimes for hours. Then I open them and watch the movie they hold also.

If I already have a viewing copy, I keep my steelbooks sealed.
If I don't have yet a viewing copy (regular edition) I open my steelbooks.

But I'll never open very rare Steelbooks or Masks I have : All Pixar/Disney, POTC Best Buy/Futureshop exclusive steels...Watchmen, Iron Man, Dark Knight masks... Same for Indiana Jones and Iron Man steels...
