I love AMC but I wish they were more consistent on when their shows air. Its been over a years since season 3 began and we are still months away from S4, that's a little crazy.

AMC's been rerunning S3 a couple of episodes a week. I've only seen the first 7 episodes or so, but this season has been tremendous so far. I can't imagine if it gets even better.

I am going to be so upset if they do not release Season 3 on Blu-Ray.

I am worried it will not be released on Blu-Ray. Amazon has Season 3 up for Pre-Order on DVD, and has for awhile, but the Blu-Ray just states 'Sign up to become notified when available.'

Please don't do this to us AMC! You have been so kind to us with all of your Show Releases so far!

One of my favorite episodes of television. That's the episode that I think convinced the Emmy voters to give the award to Aaron Paul.

I'm obviously not done yet, but so far I do feel like Aaron Paul and Dean Norris in particular really rose to the challenge of their material this season. The primary cast is pretty uniformily excellent in my opinion.

There is no reason to worry about this...obviously they are waiting until the premiere of the new season to release this. The Blu-ray will probably be out in May or June. Pre-order next month.

Yeah, except the pre-order for the DVD is already up, and has been up for some time now, however the Blu-Ray pre-order is not up.

Their reputation for abandoning TV on Blu-ray aint too pretty.

I don't know why anyone would question whether or not the third season is going to be released on Blu-ray. Like a user said earlier in the thread, it will get a release right before the season four premiere.

Now I don't think Sony will really abandon Breaking Bad on BD, but because of their mentioned reputation there's that small remaining risk. I think Amazon agrees, which is why they are only accepting pre-orders for the DVD for now.

Well, I can say that I sure hope you are right.

Only having the DVD available for pre-order though, still makes me weary, especially since it has been only the DVD for this long. That pre-order has been available for over a month at least, as I recall.

I mean an official pre-order. Amazon (and other places) puts up "pre-orders" months in advance all the time even before the studio officially announces it. They are simply placeholders.

There is no way they are not releasing a blu-ray for season 3. Season 3 was the most critically acclaimed of the series and won a ton of awards and praise. There is no reason to not give the show the full treatment, especially when it got it in the past 2 seasons.

The first season was initially only released on DVD *cough* A year later it was finally released on Blu-ray along with the second season.

Sony has released on BD:

Damages - season 1 only, none of the later ones.
Rescue Me - season 3 only, none of the later or earlier ones.

Breaking Bad and Justified are the only other Sony TV shows on BD that I can find, and so far they have had 'up to date' releases (though Justified has only has had 1 season so far, season 2 does have a placeholder).

So there's not really a huge precedent, I guess, but Breaking Bad does seem to be the more popular show out of all of these, so I'd think it's pretty likely going to get a release.
