![]() As far as Adjustment Bureau, it was just a little above average for me, maybe a 3 out of 5. I give Souce Code 4.5 out of 5. Adj. Bureau would not nearly be as good as it was w/out Matt & Emily Blunt, they were excellently casted. |

Exactly what I was thinking, only...
[Show spoiler] Kind of reminds me of AVATAR... meets DEJA VU... meets THE MATRIX... meets QUANTUM LEAP (TV Series). Character, "Voice," Played By Someone You May Know... I finally caught this last night at the local $1 theater -- I was very impressed! I think that Duncan Jones is really someone to watch -- Moon was fantastic, and this was really, really good. If it doesn't quite measure up to Moon it's only because the central premise is so far-fetched, but over-all it doesn't matter. This is a smart, exciting, well-made film!
I'll get flamed for saying this, but I much preferred Source Code to Inception. It had a similar central idea, but so much more heart. It was a good human story wrapped in a sci-fi scenario. I'm late to the party, but I wanted to give this thumb up! ![]() Last edited by charlieray1; 06-02-2011 at 02:39 PM. |

Just saw this movie tonight. I really reminded me of Philip K. Dicks Ubik. That's a good thing.

Finally watched Source Code.
SPOILER: (spoiler thread) Interesting film. So they somehow used the last remaining trail of energy from Jake's brain as he was deceased or near death (offscreen and later revealed as being shot down during war and preserved in a life support tank for the last remnants of his brain activity), and were able to implant his similar pattern into someone on a train with a similar personality, and use that to somehow use the last remnants of that similar person's memory to be on the train, and then change the source code of what happens in the final looping disastrous 8 minutes to find the killer and prevent the 2nd theoretical attack from happening, but unable to prevent the attack on the train since it already happened, and they're just having Jake's mind go into the mind of the dead man similar to him to see if he can find the killer using all the available memories surrounding him? While it would probably take another viewing to get the full understanding of it, it was an interesting film, but as far as tension, there wasn't a whole lot since he had plenty of tries to get it right. Had the film showed more of the killer out there who escaped the train in his white van with the nuclear device inside, heading towards his location after his identity was discovered, maybe that could've created more excitement in the film, as Jake's character waits for the authorities in the real world to track down the enemy seconds before the villain was able to succeed on the 2nd attack separate from the train. Instead, the story simmers down to resolution, and then in the final 10 to 15 minutes, shows Jake go back one last time to resolve the last remnants of source code from the deceased on the blasted train to cuff the bad guy, and then proceed in his mind with the source code to be with his girlfriend. That's at least what I was able to understand on a first viewing. An interesting concept film that took me a while to get into, but once I understood he had to keep going back to find the killer, it was more interesting. Then when he found the killer, and disabled him, the movie kind of quickly unraveled and all the interest and tension was lost it seemed, yet the film kept going after that with the side story. Good but room for improvement. It reminds me a little of Edge of Tomorrow. 3/5 |
