The 2D theatrical release was approximately 2.40:1; the simultaneous 3-D IMAX release was approximately 1.44:1. Both releases were rendered from the same computer models for their respective aspect ratios, so both are technically "original". Nothing was "artificially" cropped or panned-and-scanned for either. As to why the 3-D Blu-ray was presented in 2.40:1, I have no idea, but it features the same overall visual framing composition as the theatrical 2D release. |

So pleased...the retailer i bought my Samsung C7000 from has been very kind enough to swap it for the Panasonic plasma, even though i bought the TV way back in may (must add however the fault was there since Day 1).
Hopefully i will now got no more ghosting! |

Hi Owendarko,
I too had problems with the Samsung 63C7000 and viewed the Panasonic in store. When in True Cinema mode, the Panasonics ghosting was minimal. Once you then change the mode on the set to Dynamic, it is exactly the same as the Samsung, ghost city. This was enough to put me off the Panasonic 50" and keep my Samsung 63". Now I have changed the settings on the Samsung, it looks no different to me than the Panasonic when in the True Cinema setting. Horses for courses I suppose, just do not expect to see the last of the ghosting. It is there on the Panasonic too... Regards Adrian |

had this a while now but was holding out for xmas eve, I have finally watched it "YEEE HAAA" "What A Ride" I have to disagree with alot of people on here, this was fantastic the 3D was one of the best I have seen yet. The snow looks great it floats right out of the screen, the golden ticket scenes are amazing also, its non stop. This is the movie to watch for sure. Loved it and am so glad i bought this film.
Not watched xmas carol yet so thats next on my list for tomorrow. ![]() |

![]() Every year this film has been better than the last in my HT technicaly.............4 years ago, I watched the DVD which was great at the time, the following year, watched the HD-DVD which was even better since we got HD video, the next year watched the anaglyph which was even better since we got lossless audio and crappy 3d (as crappy as it was, this was the first 3d I experienced on my HT screen and I was loving it, warts and all), last year we repeated the following year, but we had done some upgrading in the audio dep which made it better, and this year 3d projection and a 9' wide 2.35 screen took this whole experience to an entire new level.........WOW!!! ![]() As amazing as the 3d/video is on this one, the audio is right there with it........when the train pulls up for the first time.........my whole house was shaking! The entire roller coaster scene is shocking..........So many good/convincing train moments during the film. Anyway, this disc is the full package IMO and I loved it! ![]() ![]() Last edited by Todd Smith; 12-25-2010 at 03:14 PM. |

I watched the JVC X7 in 3D and could litterly not see any advantage in 1080p on a 106'' when using the glasses
But yes, in 2D theres no comparisment, still the amount of $$$ I saved Im very very happy with my dlp deal with the acer h5360 in 720p and then you add the ghosting... it just seams funny to me ![]() Last edited by dealerovski; 12-28-2010 at 01:41 AM. |

![]() ![]() Others who have made the same move would disagree as far as the Acer to the 40/50............Zombie10k over on AVS moved from the Acer to the RS40 and the ONLY advantage the Acer has for 3d over the 40 is ghosting.........in every other way he prefers the 40 for 3d, but hey its all a matter of opinion ![]() Like I said, Rainbows (Acer) or a little bit of ghosting (JVC).......pick your poison ![]() Having said all that, maybe we can both agree that PE is absolutely fantastic in 3d! ![]() ![]() |
