For those who found them at Target and Best Buy:
How much is the price of Once Upon A Time in Mexico?
How much is the price of Desperado/El Mariachi ?

Has anyone found them at Walmart?

My El Mariachi/Desperado shipped from my Amazon preorder this morning, and I received the delay email on OUATIM. I was at Best Buy's door at opening this morning and they only received one copy of OUATIM, but had a few of the El/Desperado blu-rays. Both were priced $16.99.

Finally, Desperado the movie they were tooting on Blu-ray when Blu-ray first come out is finally released. I remember seeing Desperado previews on some first batches of Blu-ray disc's. It didn't take them long to finally bring it out now did it.

Actually weren't those previews for Once Upon a Time in Mexico?

You are correct sir, those early blu-ray previews showed clips of Once Upon a Time in Mexico but never Desperado. I just picked up the double feature at my local Best Buy. It was $17 but I price matched the Walmart website and got it for $14. I could care less about Once Upon a Time in Mexico as it wasn't even close to being as good as Desperado. Same goes for Machete which wasn't half as good as Planet Terror.

Rodriguez is the very definition of a hit-and-miss director to me. Maybe I'm just harsher on his lesser films because his good ones are so darn good. I mean, Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Sin City, Planet Terror, those are some of my favorite films of all-time. The rest of his filmography though, not so much. Anyway, time to watch me some Desperado in 1080p!

Add me to the delayed order club.. ordered when they were first put up, too

My order still says "Shipping Soon" yet the delivery date is "Jan. 4, 2011". My Once upon a time in mexico is also in "Shipping Soon" but estimated for Jan. 12th..

I'm hoping it goes out today for delivery tomorrow, but I highly doubt it. Seems they've dropped the ball a few times lately with these new releases.

I ended up finding copies of both OUATIM and Desperado/El Mariachi at my local BB (West Madison). $16.99 a piece, and they had 7+ copies of each in stock. I canceled my Amazon pre-order as they still had not shipped nor was any ETA provided.

Yeah I can't figure him out...I liked all you mentioned as well except for Planet Terror...god I hated that. But I wonder if he is a director that works much better and more focused if his budget isn't so bloated.

Why didn't they just release Desperado and El Mariachi seperately?

I'm outta luck as well on Desperado/El Mariachi and OUATIM. Very interesting considering I pre-ordered both from amazon over a month ago, but no big deal. Got Machete to pass the time.

Hopefully there wont be too much of a delay to get these back in stock.

I think they did the right thing by releasing it as a combo. Many more will buy a combo pack of the two who wouldn't buy them individually. Something that most consider "low budget" and things almost always found under $5 on DVD will be a hard sale to the public at ~$20 MSRP.

I'd have bought a boxset of El Mariachi, Desperado and Once upon a time in Mexico for about $35-40 if they added some new features, PiP, etc.. to it. Throw in Machete and sell it for $59.99 MSRP

I had both the double pack and once upon a time in Mexico on an amazon order with all the other new releases this week and it wasn't shipping. I removed them from the order and the other four movies went into shipping soon immediately. I replaced an order for Desperado and El Mariachi. I'll save the almost 10 dollar difference and just get them from Amazon instead of going to Best Buy. I have patience!!
