Let's also not forget Marvels post-Avengers plan is four films a year. It's possible we could get all three sequels AND Ant-man in 2013.
I think Marvel will introduce new characters such as Dr. Strange, SHIELD and Hawkeye (Thor/The Avengers) before we get all those sequels. Hasn't it been said SHIELD between TA and IM3?

I don't think a SHIELD movie is anything more than a rumor. I don't remember hearing anything about it from Marvel. They've been talking about Black Widow and Hawkeye solo films I doubt theyd do a SHIELD film on top of that.

Kevin Feige has said they're looking at doing a S.H.I.E.L.D. film, so it's a little more than a rumor, but there is no confirmation on if it will happen or not.

Black Widow's movie was riding the "Scarlett Johanssen is cool! " wave immediately after IM2's big reception, and....IM2's star seems to have since faded somewhat, after a year of cooler heads prevailing.

The same could be said about Hawkeye's movie post-Thor, although there hasn't been as much of a "Eh... " morning-after backlash against Thor--
Or at least expect attention to be eclipsed by Captain America, which only focuses eyes back on the Avengers group-movie prize.

What's the Deal with Ant-Man?

Quote:
Marvel's Ant-Man is one of those titles seemingly stuck in Development Hell. Is the movie happening? Is it not happening?

Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish told Comic-Con that Hank Pym's movie is definitely "on."

"We turned in a new draft [of Ant-Man] on Monday," Wright revealed during the panel for the very fun, very awesome Attack The Block. He acknowledged that the project has taken some time to develop, as both he and Block writer-director Cornish have made 3 films since they started working on the script.

"But we're very excited about it," Wright commented. "We have some concept art and we really enjoy working on it."

If everything works out with this current draft, audiences could see an Ant-Man movie sometime in 2014.

I just realized that Joe Johnston would be a good director for Ant-Man since he directed Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.

Edgar Wright Wraps on ANT-MAN Test Reel
Quote:

Although director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) is currently prepping to shoot The World’s End, he’s apparently found enough time to put together a test reel for an Ant-Man feature. The Marvel superhero is a scientist by the name of Hank Pym who can change his size at will, from the miniscule to the gigantic. He also possesses a helmet that lets him communicate with ants. Wright was originally attached to the project when Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk went into production, although Ant-Man was sidelined to make way for the origin movies of the heroes that would go on to star in The Avengers. Ironically, Ant-Man was a founding member of the superheroic assembly; perhaps, if Wright’s test reel goes well, we’ll see an Ant-Man feature and a follow-up appearance in The Avengers 2.

Heat Vision reports that Wright and Ant-Man co-writer Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) quietly wrapped on the Ant-Man test reel recently. The test reel isn’t uncommon for movies that have a risky premise or have a stylized appearance; 300 and Battle: LA are prime examples. Wright had spent a little less than a week shooting in mid-June to get the tone of the film down and see how Pym’s powers played out on camera. We’ll have to wait and see how the studio reacts to what they’re shown. In the meantime, Wright will start shooting The World’s End this September with fellow “blood and ice cream trilogy” stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

Title card and test footage screened at SDCC
Quote:

In a fantastic surprise, Feige introduced Edgar Wright to talk about Ant-Man. Wright had been tweeting about being in London for the past few days in an effort to throw fans off, but he came out to a very warm reception.

“I’m taking the Terrence Malick approach to superheroes,” said Wright referring to the long road of development on Ant-Man.
Wright and Joe Cornish wrote two more drafts of last year.

They then revealed test footage that Wright shot for Ant-Man, after Wright toyed for a bit with the audience saying they wouldn’t really want to see a clip of stuff with wires and blue screens in it. It’s completely unfinished since they shot it two weeks ago, but they showed the footage anyway because Marvel absolutely owns Comic-Con.

The footage opened with Ant-Man sitting on a ledge in an air conditioning vent that lead to a hallway guarded by two agents. The costume was pretty metallic looking, and he snuck through the vent hole and started running down the hallway. He morphed to normal size, shocking the guards, then morphed back down to ant size and kept running. Still in “ant size” he leapt up and punched one of the guys in the face, knocking the spit out of him, then he ran and attacked the other guard.

The footage was obviously rough, but I thought the big/small effects worked great. Wright found a way to make Ant-Man’s power work in a cool and useful way on screen, while still allowing room for the playful tone that he does so well. The lights then came back up.

“I’ve been doing one second of that for the last six years,” quipped Wright
Wright confirmed that the costume mixing the Silver Age and contemporary Ant-Man, adding “Ant-Man will kick your ass one inch at a time.”
Wright said there’s no casting to announce, but “revealed” that Ant-Man has been here all day, pulling out an Ant-Man title card and putting it on the table next to him.

I'm really interested to see how Edgar does this. I'd like to see Joel Edgerton as Ant-Man as well.

Same here. Seems like I've been checking YouTube every 20 minutes hoping to catch one up. Not found any. I did find a four parter of the Iron Man 3 panel but it had all shown footage (Ant-Man and Iron Man 3) cut out.

Why is leaked comic con footage so hard to find this year? Has there been a crack down? The only notable footage from comic con so far has been Superman.
