The PiP mode for PS and CoS seems to be missing (they were on the US release). I'm happy with these sets but it looks like the US got the better deal over all. The only advantage of the UK sets is that the boxes are more uniform than the US editions.

Hi guys bought HP1 and HP5 yesterday. Very, very pleased with the box sets. Like I said before well worth the money (£25 for a blu-ray, digital copy, and 3/4 DVDs, Picture Book and Character Cards). You pay £20 alone for one blu-ray and a DVD for Disney's Diamond Edition. The Picture book is and extra I was looking forward to.

One question though. Is it just me or did anyone else get Professor Snape character card in the HP1 box set and not Harry Potter? Having not bought HP2 yet, I am unsure if Harry will appear in that set instead.

For those who already purchased the UE's in the UK, could you please let me know which audio and subtitles are included? Thanks in advance!

Bought 1-3 today from HMV. I really didn't think the extended would be shifted to DVD! Annoying but I'm not too bothered, also a shame that the creating the world disc is DVD too...really is a glorified DVD set with a standard Blu chucked in. Just a shame about 7 and 8, wonder if they'll ever be released in this format and match up...

I don't see how more DVDs is a better release, (LotR EE's not withstanding) As far as I'm aware, the extended editions of 1 & 2 aren't BDs. The packaging may look nice, but the real value is what's inside.

I thought the Blu was the Extended because it's longer than the Theatrical but guess it's just the time difference from Blu to DVD?

Can someone please confirm the audio options. I had a look at these in HMV today and the audio options didn't look very promising.

I ordered PS and CoS from the US when they came out there (as they are handily region free, thanks B-R.com) and it was worth it as they are both extended cuts, CoS was great, loads of new scenes and extra bits. The rest are a waste of time. WB, why would I spend extra £15(ish) just for a 1 hour documentary?

Umm?

PS and COS Extended cuts are shoved onto DVDs.

PIP commentary for PS and COS is not included.

Creative The World... documentaries are shoved onto DVDs.

It doesn't seem that the Ultimate editions are leaving very good impressions. Well I, for one, am gonna wait for the DELUXE ELITE GIGANTIC NEXT LEVEL ULTIMATE EDITION coming 'xmas 2012. That if the world doesn't end by then :P. Harry Potter is now a household name; the longer you wait the better edition is going to come out. By 2016 Warner Bros are going to release the 15th Year Anniversary DEFINITIVE Edition.

Well I changed my mind after reading this article. Warner Bros is going "Tricky" on us. They are pulling off all the blu-rays and dvds from the shelves 29 Dec 2011. Harry Potter is going "Niche" now. They will release 1 edition per year for a limited time only then pull off completely. They want to use the structure used by Disney for their "Classic" cartoons. For more read this article

Personally this news kinda sucks. The movies managed to make 8 BILLION Dollars profits worldwide. WB has an obligations towards us the "audiences" who made this franchise the most successful one in history. I don't want to keep collecting the series over and over and over and over again for hefty prices every year they decide to release more ultimate editions. How much more do they want from us!!?. I am going to buy the Regular Blu-ray Boxset and that's it for me. They can keep the MORE ULTIMATE editions for themselves. Sorry for my rant guys I really was expecting one DEFINITIVE edition like Lord of the Rings and move on to other movies. Instead they will be like Star Wars.

Die hard fans... start building an exclusive library for your Harry Potter Collections.

The DELUXE ELITE GIGANTIC NEXT LEVEL ULTIMATE EDITION will include an additional kissing scene never seen before.

Thats only happening in the US mate. Won't be happening in the UK. I'll find the quote from WB that was made on fan site (which has escaped me atm). Rest assured the discs will not disappear in the UK.

Well, Warner Bros. Germany announced to do this also, so I wouldn't be surprised, when the UK and the rest of the world follow. They use this strategy btw also for LotR and the Batman Franchise (though the Nolan movies will not go into the vault).

Well I just ordered Harry Potter - The Complete 8-Film Collection [Blu-ray]+Harry Potter Film Wizardry Book. That's it for me. No more waiting for upcoming editions. In any case they won't pull off LotR kind of extended editions any time soon :P. They will only re-insert the already available deleted scenes into the films. With the exception of CoS and DH1, all the deleted scenes on the rest of the movies add nothing important the films.

I will only wait for the day when Warner Bros runs out of "Fancy Words" for their "ultimate" collections and they have nothing left to con their audiences with. They will release the FINAL FINAL "Use any Fancy Word" Limited Edition where they will give out Emma Watson (in person) free with the collection..Man i bet it will be the most expensive one yet and if she isn't too old by then I'LL certainly be the first in line to buy that edition. The girls can get the one with Harry Potter himself :P.

Apparently the Blu-Ray discs are exact copies of the original blu's, even down to the audio drops. What a complete disgrace from Warner to UK fans.
