It seems odd to me that this title never appeared at Best Buy in-store. More bizarre is that even amazon seems to have had only a small initial stock.

TV promo spots for Journey 2 are running fairly often now. One would think that the 3D BD for Journey 1 3D would be on all major retailer shelves. I'll hold off from ordering from amazon for a while (it's backordered anyway) and wait a couple more weeks to see if it finally does show up at Best Buy. But I won't pay $42.99 at BB even with Reward Zone certificates and gift cards.

Switching gears, I hope Best Buy will carry Tranny DOTM 3D in-store come January 31st.

I ordered Journey from Amazon last Thursday, the site says it take ships in 7 to 11 days but once I ordered it, I got a message saying it would ship sooner. So if you want it, I'd go ahead and order it.

It's very strange how this played out with BB.

Ok thanks. Wasn't sure. I remember vaguely watching some 3D back then. There was one hyped up on TV back in the 80's. Forgot which one.

The coolest one is the new Star Tour ride. There are 67 different combination so each ride is different. I managed to ride it 3 times and all were different.

Yeah, I wonder who dropped the ball? I'm going to say it was the fault of the publisher. Had the store had the item on time, they always stock it the first day and then decide what price they want to charge, usually lower the first week of sales. Then they'll hike it up to 44.99$ and watch it collect dust...

31.99$ is still too much for me, but I do want to own this one on 3D Blu Ray once it's in the 24.99 range.

If you decide you don't like it, send me a PM. If I haven't already gotten it and if you don't have or if you want The Voyage of the Dawntreader", I'll trade you. I got the Blu Ray DVD version when it came out and decided to buy the 3D version (which included Blu Ray and DVD also). Then, when my Sony 780 3D Blu Ray player took a dump on me, I sent it in for repair. When I got the new Blu Ray player back, they sent me a promo copy of the 3D disk (damn......). So, since I've made a short story long, I have the 3D version and the 2D Blu Ray version along with an unopened promotional 3D copy. I'd sell or trade the latter two....

This movie is so stupid.

Yet so much fun! Basically this is a gimick 3D movie so if you're not into that then don't bother because the story is so contrived and far fetched that you will be rolling your eyes for most part of the movie. However, obviously they went the gimick route and there are an abundance of things popping out of the screen. The depth in the caverns, and cliff edges are wonderful and there were plenty of moments that had me on the edge of my seat, especially when it was a character dangling over a cliff edge. This is on a 110" screen mind you so your mileage will vary depending on what size screen you watch this on I guess. It was a very immersive experience for me. My only gripe was some of the pop out effects were just way too overused and I counted 4 moments where a character would say "let's go this way!" only to point their finger out of the screen. After the 2nd time the effect wore off.

Favorite 3D moments: The mine rollercoaster, falling down the hole with the water droplets, the blue birds, the depth in the floating rock scene and the end title sequence.

Your kids should love it!

Does anyone know if this disc is region-free? There's no UK release date yet, which is annoying, though it does come out on French Region 2 on 15 Feb, which will work in the UK so might have to buy it off the Frenchies:

Thanks for that info. So the 3D sounds good despite the throw away story. Maybe if I think of it as a very long Theme Park 3D ride...

Gotta Remember that this was one if the first 3D new style movies so they made geared towards kids and like the fad of 50's and 80's. I saw it in theater and thought 3d great story of course forgettable but enjoyable movie.

End credits with floating dynamite was cool my disc from amazon hasn't even shipped yet but if the red green version was pretty close to the movie theater version then this should be great.

I wish this had come out way before so people wouldn't think so bad about it comparing it to all the new movies.

How can you not love Amazon? I ordered this on the 19th, it said the delivery would be between Feb 2-8, then I got an email that said it would get here sooner, the 30-31, well it came today. So it went from getting this on the 8th to basically 5 days later. The brick and mortar stores have got to step their game up to compete with this kind of service....and I'm not a prime member, I always get the free shipping option.

I'm going to watch it this weekend.

I already have the 3D Narnia movie. Thanks anyway.

That's the spirit

My son wanted to watch it again, and I have to admit that even though we had just watched it two days before I enjoyed it nearly as much the second go-round I enjoyed it at the theater in 3D, didn't care for it at all at home in anaglyph BD, cared even less when I saw it in 2DBD, but the fun is fully restored in 3DBD. This is the way it was meant to be seen!

It looks like the Warner overseas releases are region locked, and all the U.S. releases are listed as either "region free" or "B/C untested".

that is not true warner releases overseas is region free also.
So is this release region free or not since everywhere i look it says Region A and that would be the first time a warner release is coded?
