Is this a joke? Read the last page. If you really "want" the film then pre order it from Amazon for only £13.99.

When I ordered King Of Pigs, I was convinced that it was a Third Windows release. After getting the Third Window newsletter release this morning, I realised it is being released by Terracotta. I placed an order for some more of their titles as they were cheap on Amazon. I had Hansel & Gretel on DVD, which I recently upgraded to Blu-ray

I'm happy to support these smaller labels, as if they went out of business, I couldn't get these titles. Looking forward to the new Third Window title on it's way in the post

I recently watched Confessions, and it moved me, especially the ending. I've still got a few of their tiitles in my collection to watch, but now I've got my room properly set up to watch films, I can enjoy them even more

Not really what I meant. It may be of no use at all, but it's worth having a browse of this. It could be a savvy way for you to keep prices at a level you desire, and improve on your products visibility in Amazon (marketplace sales count towards Amazon's sales rank).

Unfortunately this would break the deal we have with our sales company who handle our stock directly with Amazon, etc. In fact, our own online store would also do that, but having an Amazon one would be very blatant considering they'd find out in a minute.

Eureka have their own in-house sales team so don't have to worry about such issues. We're too small to have our own in-house team so have to outsource.

Eureka are actually a much bigger company than most people think. They make shedloads of money releasing budget work-out dvds. How else can they get the money to make all those expensive masters of cinema titles? They've been a round for an awful long time (remember Benson's World? the online retailer - same owner) so know how to make a quick buck.

From the mailing list.

Due to the current uncertainty of HMV/FOPP/PLAY.COM/BLOCKBUSTER and the current mess of the UK entertainment market, we unfortunately have to push back some of our 2013 releases.
You can read a little bit about the current HMV/FOPP situation HERE and the PLAY.COM situation HERE to see what we're up against.
Probably the most interesting article that highlights the plight of indie cinema in this current state comes from The Guardian HERE. Give it a read.

Takashi Miike's FOR LOVE'S SAKE - will be pushed back to JUNE 10th

Kiyoshi Kurosawa's EYES OF THE SPIDER / SERPENT'S PATH will be moved to late summer. Release date TBC

VULGARIA will keep its April 15th release date

Everything else on hold until we can see how things will pan out over the next coming months.

We are in a very bad position, as is the UK market so please bear with us and please place your orders with AMAZON or MOVIE MAIL for now as they seem to be some of the only places that are going as usual.

For now, all the support that we can get would be much appreciated, so please tell all your friends about Third Window Films and you can buy titles from us at our Amazon shop at: http://astore.amazon.co.uk/ or from another great supplier with http://www.moviemail.com
Probably a good idea to buy The Woodsman & the Rain.

I have ordered mine!

It will be a massive shame if Third Window were to disappear and it seems their titles don't sell as well as they deserve to.

Personally I prefer this label more than any other

I completely agree. One of the most unique UK labels, bringing films that are virtually impossible to see if not fluent in Japanese.

I've said this quite a lot in this thread and on my Twitter page, but Third Window are probably one of my favourite labels. The fact that they release Blu-rays and not just DVDs, and also have a wide variety of titles, make them stand out. The other labels I like - Arrow, Eureka/MOC, Second Run, Second Sight, Network, Shameless, BFI and 88 Films, wouldn't put out any of these films, well possibly Eureka might put the odd one out

If it got to the stage where it wasn't financially viable to put out titles anymore, then I can't see anyone else coming along and taking over

I got my Woodsman & The Rain today. Very happy indeed

UPDATE:

I just noticed the back of the sleeve has been pushed in while in the box and the sleeve was damaged. Along with my copy of Fear & Desire, I've had to request a replacement from Amazon. I'll just keep hold of these until the replacements come

From Facebook:

"Shinya Tsukamoto has just finished his remastering of TOKYO FIST and BULLET BALLET. He is incredibly pleased with the restoration work and we're even happier to soon be able to start our Blu-ray work on the titles! Will be out towards the end of this year!"

NEWS/TRAILER
https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=11031

Quote:
Independent British distributors Third Window Films have officially announced and detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of Takashi Miike's For Love's Sake (2012), starring Satoshi Tsumabuki, Sakura Andō, and Ayano. The release will be available for purchase online and in shops across the Unite Kingdom on June 10th.

Not exactly a director that plays along with genre rules, the prolific Takashi Miike now takes his talent in genre bending to the pure romance world with For Love's Sake a.k.a. Ai to Makoto, based on Kajiwara Ikki's 1973 manga series. An epic story of a rich high school girl who falls in love with a tough young gangster, Miike's take on the story breaks all the rules with musical numbers (with music by popular music producer Kobayashi Takeshi), tongue-in-cheek humour, and in-your-face violence. Starring Satoshi Tsumabuki (Villain) and Emi Takei (Rurouni Kenshin) as the star-crossed lovers, For Love's Sake is a unique and incredibly wild ride that will change your definition of what a pure romance can be.

Special Features:

Making of Featurette

Looks like a lot of Third Windows BDs have came down in price today

Kotoko down to £9.75 on Amazon, or £7.99 on Base.com. just ordered a copy

The Woodsman and the Rain also £9.75 on Amazon, & £7.99 on Base.com.

Tetsuo:1&2 £14.00 Amazon, & £11.29 Base.com.

Himizu £10.00 Amazon.

Love Exposure £9.75 Amazon.

Confessions £8.00 Amazon.

also Cold Fish, Memories of Matsuko & Kamikaze Girls are all at £8.00 but I don't think they are new prices.

Typical, I've been wanting to get Himizu and Kotoko for awhile but were priced stupidly. They become cheap enough and I don't have the funds available. Hopefully they'll stay these prices until next week.
