I was surprised that, in an otherwise comprehensive documentary, no mention, even just as a quick aside, was made of Dana Carvey's brief appearance.

Typically with my Amazon order the shipping will update Sunday evening, or Monday morning. Of course this probably varies from area to area.

A significant improvement - the same transfer, but many (most?) of the scratches and splotches have been removed.

Mine still says "Not yet shipped" i pre ordered on Thursday evening with two day shipping to receive this on release date. I'm hoping by tonight or tomorrow morning it's been shipped.

Is this a significant upgrade over the previous version? May want to pick this one up with H3.

The original release was not lossless (thought it appears that new copies previously available only through the Universal exchange program are now making it into the hands of retailers) and was missing the original Akkad credit at the beginning of the film.

Comparing the corrected version with the new Shout release...

SHOUT uses the same master but has cleaned up the dirt and white specks that many complained about on the previous release.

Also are 2 new audio commentaries, a 45 min doc, a handful of other features as well as all the extras from the previous edition. Missing is the "terror in the aisles" bonus -- which isn't a huge loss. Also included is the TV cut on a DVD with the package.

Really this blows the previous release out of the water. There's not really any comparison to be made...

Got this today, pulled out a 3-disc Viva Elite case, placed in the two Shout discs and the corrected Universal disc and then switched the cover to the original artwork and presto, an ultimate edition. And by having the slipcover, I get to see both wonderful pieces of artwork.

I just got both Halloween 2 and 3 From amazon. I love the slip cover. The artwork is nice. Now i have to pre order Terror Train and The Fun House for October...

Earlier this year, I had gone to an event that Dana Carvey was going to be at, and was waiting where all the autograph collectors wait, and it was funny some of the responses i was getting as to why i had my Halloween II bluray with me to get signed.

when Dana signed he was impressed that I brought a Halloween II item for him to sign, and out of the people he signed for i was the only one who didnt just get a scribble of intials, but actually a fully signed out Dana Carvey.

Thats the main reason why I am keeping my cover art for the Universal release.

I took the two discs from the awesome scream factory release, one of my two copies of the corrected uni release and the signed Uni slip cover (Besides Dana Carvey it also is signed by Jamie Lee Curtis, and rick rosenthal) and put them into a 3 disc case.

Does anyone know if Terror Train and The funhouse are going to have slips like the Halloween releases?

Just got this in the mail. Awesome release! Cant wait to watch it this October
