To be honest, this news doesn't mean much to me. As much as I hate Disney, I really have no interest in more Star wars movies to begin with. For me, the story begins and ends with the rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker. Beyond that, I don't care much. The only thing about it that does concern me is the further proof that Disney continues to become increasingly more frighteningly powerful.

Well if that was the case, then I'm satisfied that I did my part.

See my previous post.

I know all about original plans, I don't care about the specific characters they use, but Alien Threat? Really? Thats not very Star Wars Trillogy like.

They want to keep th trillogy then stick to the formula. Otherwise make it a spin off so people don't get pissed with them ****ing with our space opera and introducing evil aliens.

My greatest hope from this is that we'll finally get the original, unmolested trilogy restored on Blu-Ray. The last release, a letterboxed 4:3 LaserDisc transfer ported to DVD, was entirely unacceptable.

But without Lucas there to ruin a new movie, I'd potentially be interested in seeing where Star Wars could go in the future. As long as there are no inane space politics, count me in!

THIS is the reason this news excites me. Lucas has screwed up his own creation for too long...Disney will treat the fans with respect.

Why are people freaking about so much about this (in a negative way)?

Aren't these the same people who went on and on about their hatred for Lucas and his treatment of the Episodes IV-VI?

I'm not one of those people. I have nothing but mad respect for Lucas and what he's brought to cinema over the years.

Still, just the idea that DISNEY makes Star Wars decisions is just....

True. He lives in California, so federal and state taxes will eat up a lot of that.

Because there were never any "Evil Aliens" in Star Wars? What movies were you watching?

With the end of the Empire there's peace. You need something to come in and be the new threat to the Galaxy.

Tell me I'm wrong.
I hadn't thought about it, and I know you say it half jokingly, but I expect to see crossovers galore.

And something else I didn't think about until I was in the middle of typing that last sentence, I bet there will also be remakes/reboots.
