Bugs and glitches are what have hurt Bethesda games like crazy. They have been worst on the PS3.

Too many loading checkpoints are also what hurt the game.

These problems are in part related, since some Fallout 3 and New Vegas often bugged out during those loads.

Man, I remember those days playing Fallout 3 and the game would freeze up so much it made my want to punch a baby. I save often but some runs you get carried away or just even small progressions. After I finished the game, I wrote a polite but strong letter to the company. Knowing it would end up in the spam folder, I still took the time to let them know how I wanted to murder their Q&A dept.. I had to get it off my chest. At that time, I think I may have needed personal help.

Just got a nice introductory yesterday when I started my first playthrough of SKYRIM. One hour in bam, game froze. Yeah bugs!

Yeah, one of my saves got totally ruined on the PS3 and it soured my opinion of Fallout. I was my fault for not keeping enough saves. All I know with Bethesda games is that I will be keeping 10 save files. This worked well for Skyrim.

It's probably not but it may very well be...

Bethesda plans its first ever press conference for E3
Never mind the fallout—let the speculation begin!

For the last few years, the days running up to the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo have followed a predictable press conference pattern: Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Sony, and Nintendo all present their upcoming game slates in that order. This year, with four months to go until the show, Bethesda has decided to throw a wrench into that pattern by announcing its first ever E3 press conference.

Bethesda's event will take place in Hollywood on Sunday, June 14, two days before the official start of the show and before the other players are likely to host their preshow events. The presentation will be streamed via Twitch, but fans will also be able to register for a limited number of slots to attend live.

Bethesda isn't offering any hints about what it's prepared to show, simply saying that "we're almost ready for our close up," but some Twitter users are hyping themselves up for the hoped-for announcement of Fallout 4. That would certainly makes sense; by this holiday season, it will have been five years since Fallout: New Vegas drew critical acclaim and five million sales in its first month alone.

Five-year development cycle has little to show for it, sources say.
Bethesda could also have news about the long-delayed and somewhat troubled development of Doom 4, which was first announced nearly seven years ago. Or maybe Bethesda is finally ready to turn Dishonored from the Game of the Year for 2012 into a bona fide franchise with a sequel. Bethesda could also dip into a franchise stable that includes Wolfenstein, The Elder Scrolls, and Prey, before you even get into the possibility of a new franchise announcement.

It's all rampant speculation at this point, but the simple fact that the press conference exists suggests that Bethesda has something it feels is worthy of a major push this time around. That hasn't stopped some industry watchers from having fun with the less-likely possibilities, though. "Bethesda is having a huge press conference in LA during E3, which can mean only one thing: the return of Wayne Gretzky Hockey," Game Informer's Matt Bertz tweeted in the wake of the news.

Thanks for the press conference possibility info.

PS3 was said to have low RAM and involved complicated programming compared to PC and 360. The PS4 is said to be much easier to program for, and more like a PC set up.

Fallout 3 is still my favorite game of all time, so if Fallout 4 continues the dark atmosphere and brilliant open game play, and character scavenging of 3, that will be awesome.

I love the Fallout 3 cycle of repairing worn weapons and armor by scavenging your fallen enemies. The detail in which you can pick items from them and see the actual change on them as the gear is taken away is what keeps my playing years later. Along with all of the other cool features Fallout 3 offered.
EDIT: Most games just let you collect weapons from the enemy and then the enemy disappears. Fallout actually lets you take their armor and wear it yourself. Why let it go to waste?

Fallout 4 is rumored for 2016.

Fallout 4 would be amazing but I wouldn't be upset if it was Dishonored 2. It was a fun game as well.

I'd be happy with either one. But a new IP of equivalent quality would be nice, too.

Screw a new IP, give me Fallout 4! And please let the all of those rumors be true of it being set in Boston.

Maybe we could see a new Elder Scrolls single player game. Skyrim came out in 2011 so it has been a few years. I am not count counting Elder Scrolls Online though.

Hopefully not. I would hate to know everyone had to wait on me while I was collecting books and other rand om things. I go kind of crazy in these games.

It best not be Dishonored 2 or a new IP because I WILL set the interwebs ablaze!!! However, a Fallout Online would be interesting though. Let's just keep hoping for FO4 though & not Doom 4.

I'd love for this to be the case too, but I think we're a couple years away from another Elder Scrolls single player game. I'd be happy with Fallout 4 too.

Sadly I think it will be neither.

I can't see Bethesda releasing two Elder Scrolls games in a row.

FO3 is in my all time top 3 but New Vegas is the one that won't let me go. I think I've played through that one over 14 times now from beginning to end. I proabaly got close to 700 hours of playtime on that one alone with about 400 on FO3.
