I did a no-receipt return on the first GI Joe movie from the VUDU pre-order 2-pack.

I already had it and it was sealed. They took it back, no questions asked. Got $16 in store credit put on a gift card.

You can do 3 no-receipt returns every 45 days at Walmart.

If anybody needs one of the vudu Wal-Mart pre-order packages, feel free to send me a pm. I have a pretty solid source who gets them to me regularly.

I hope Wolverine goes up for pre-order soon.

I can see them throwing in the first movie as an "activate now" deal with it.

that's cool. Did you have to peel off the barcode stick? It maybe that the GIJoe preorder has the same UPC code this time around. I don't know why they place a different UPC stick over the existing UPC code on some of the preorders. That's what prevented me from a return last time.

Since he returned the first movie, I'd say it's very possible that Retaliation had a different barcode since that's a new release and that they didn't even bother changing it for the first movie.

I didn't have to peel anything off.

It was a 2-pack where they shrink wrapped GI Joe 1 in with GI Joe 2.

Both were sealed new inside.

Also done it with several other Blu-Ray movies and video games over the years when I get a good deal on something I don't want.

3 no-receipt returns on items still sealed and carried by Walmart every 45 days is their policy.

No one is disputing the no-receipt return thing, but when it comes to these Vudu pre-orders, your situation is unique.

What menace519 is saying is that the Vudu pre-orders usually have a completely different barcode (often a sticker) that will not scan at Wal-Mart because that barcode isn't in their system. If a product isn't in the system, you can't do a no-receipt return (although you might come across a manager now and then who will override it, but that's not company policy).

That's why I said I that in your case, since you returned the first movie, they probably didn't bother with a new barcode considering it's an older release. They're more concerned about the new release. With these Vudu pre-orders, they don't want people buying it, getting the early access streaming and Vudu copy, then turning around and returning the Blu-ray. To them, that's stealing (since people who do that are getting to keep the pre-order bonuses without paying for them).

I can confirm that the Oblivion Metalpak preordered thru Vudu has a sticker over it.

My guess as to the reason it worked this time is that it's a Wal-Mart exclusive blu-ray. Since it was only sold at Wal-Mart maybe they didn't bother with an extra barcode sticker. Same with The Hobbit digibook since I think someone mentioned that one didn't have an extra sticker either.

RDLee returned the first G.I. Joe movie from the pre-order double pack, which wasn't a Wal-Mart exclusive. So while what you suggested could be the case in some situations, I don't think that's what happened here.

Another suggestion is to take them to Target. They have a limit of $70 (I think) at a time on one transaction with their no-receipt return policy.

However, and this hasn't happened often, anytime they've had an issue with the bar-code not scanning they tell me that the best they can do is offer that may I switch my item for another item of a similar kind. (A game for a game, dvd for dvd, ect.)

Maybe I'm just lucky but this is how it's been for me over the past decade.

The barcode on these won't scan at Target either, and the exchange you mentioned will be a big YMMV since they don't have to accept it.

Either way, buying an in-store Vudu pre-order at Wal-Mart, using the digital content, and then trying to return the unopened Blu-ray is an attempt at stealing. Your G.I. Joe situation could be argued to be different since you kept the movie that the pre-order was really for, but then again, there's a case to be made that it's not. Either way, the mods probably won't like a discussion to continue that revolves around a subject that is at best ethically questionable and at worst outright stealing since that violates forum rules.

I completely agree, I misread the original post or I would have replied the same way to begin with.

Back on topic did anyone see the price for the One Direction pre-order? I have all the information on it and SoA except the price on One Direction.

Would love to do a pre-order on this one but other than X-men 2 I already have all the X Men movies. Would be hard to do a pre-order knowing I'm getting one I already have.

Sorry I had not seen that earlier.

Man, I really hope that means they put out codes for the other 4 at some point. This is my favorite show.

I did my first Walmart preorder yesterday for Grimm Season 2. It was marked for $24.95, so they did a price adjustment for it. Couldt pass it up at that price

Does anyone know there will be one for Revolution?
