That's about the most unexpected release of the year so far for me, never thought I'd see it on Blu-ray! Thanks, and I love your new avatar!

Me too man, I was holding off for awhile to see what Explosive Media did with Città violenta, but I couldn't wait any longer and recently picked up the blu-ray from Italy, so glad I did too, Great movie. Super rad Bronson, beautiful Jill and Savalas at His Peak!!

Morricone's incredibly atmospheric score is fantastic as well!

Pardon, but wtf!? It took a while to find this on IMDb 'cause it's listed as The Family - and is apparently not even out on DVD here. Is the language Italian or English? If both, which is the dub? Alas, the Italian BD is region B (which locks me out for now), is it available from any Region A outfits?

The English audio has the voices of the American actors. I believe the Italian actors are dubbed. No, only the German/Italian BDs exists at this time.

It is out on DVD in the US, by both Blue Underground and Anchor Bay, with extras. Get a copy!

Well, somehow I missed it last time I checked Amazon, but checking again, this time I found the Blue Underground DVD - no sign of the Anchor Bay release. Checking on eBay, I also came across a double feature WB DVD of Telefon & St. Ives - do you know if it’s 2 discs or both flicks on 1 disc?* Or know anything about the PQ/AQ quality (or lack thereof )? Can’t believe I’m looking for coasters again.

*EDIT : Crap, Amazon says it's 1-disc, dual layer. A flipper?

The picture quality of "St Ives" is much better than the one of "Telefon". The picture quality of "Telefon" is quite disappointing.

Besides, the DVD of "St. Ives" has got a great "Making Of" as an extra feature.

I own the Warner Bros. DVD of "St.Ives" and I have also the Warner Double Feature of "Telefon" and "St. Ives". It´s as you said a flipper disc.

So does that double feature have the St. Ives "Making Of", or is it only on the single? And, is the St. Ives PQ the same on both, or is it better on the single release? In which case, I would need the single of St. Ives for quality and the double feature just for Telefon, yes?

Before I even consider buying more coasters, anyone heard any ... even rumors about either of these coming to a region A BD anytime soon?

I´ve just checked the Double Feature for you

On the Double Feature there´s also the "Making of" of "St Ives". Therefore it´s enough to buy the Double Feature. Picture quality is the same as on the single disc.

By the way, I emailed Shout Factory on their Facebook site to suggest they should release the Bronson film "Love and Bullets" on blu-ray.

"Love and Bullets" was produced by Sir Lew Grade and Shout Factory owns the rights of all Lew Grade productions so I hope for an upcoming announcement.

Shout Factory thanked me for my suggestion.

Thanks again for all your help : one Bronson double feature ordered! And a coaster!
Great idea : I'd forgotten all about Love And Bullets but it brings a nice buzz so I must've seen it somewhere.

Great idea! I didn't know they owned all of Sir Lew Grade's movies. Shout Factory would be a great company to release it, maybe even with a few extras.

I wish it was possible to get the full UNCUT version of Death Wish 2 on bluray.

I wouldn't hold your breath: their DVD release of it was fullframe while the supporting feature, Russian Roulette, was a non-anamorphic widescreen transfer.

Telefon's transfer pretty inconsistent: sharp in some scenes, grainy in others. But the theatrical prints weren't very good either - possibly because of the change in directors after Peter Hyams was fired and Don Siegel took over there are wild changes in cinematography from pin-sharp to that irritatingly over-diffused soft focus that ran rampant in the late-70s. Some shots actually look like they are dupes cut into the negative.

Does anyone own the Dutch Death Wish 5 BD and can say anything about the transfer? I've nearly pulled the trigger twice but always end up changing my mind at the last minute. We'll never see an official HD release since the film is controlled by Lionsgate in the US so I'm thinking the Dutch release, as flawed as it may be, will be the only option. If it has English subtitles, at least, I may just give in.
