A friend of mine on Facebook told me that according to VideoETA, Frozen is set for release on April 2014!:

I thought it was an animated movie about interpersonal relationships, how fear and misunderstanding can tear them apart and how love can repair them when they seem to be irreparably fractured. Fixer Upper has been called non-sequiter and irrelevant, but I think it defines the theme of the movie and that everything relates to and builds on the ideas expressed in it. I view Elsa's power/curse to be an eminently visible mark of difference that feeds isolation/persecution, very similar to Vanellope's glitchiness in WiR, but in no way do I feel either film is simply just about that element of those characters.

yeah that wasn't really explained very well, was it? eh... so she has magical powers, big whoop, whatever

interestingly this movie while attributed to Hans Christian Anderson's 'The Snow Queen' is a bit of a misnomer as the film and the story bare very little resemblance to the original story's plot or characters. 'Loosely Based' is very apt.

I think Tangled was released on BD around April 2010. Wreck It Ralph was released early March. I think late March could be more likely with a early March digital release, but given that Frozen could have a longer theatrical run than Wreck It Ralph, who knows?

what is surprising me is that I'm hearing a lot folk are reseeing this movie twice and more in the theater (adults included).

4 times? I liked it, but eventually it's just too much. I saw it once. I would see it again but so many other movies are coming out. I saw the Hobbit today ink HFR 3d and loved the details in it. I still want to see Saving Mr. Banks and American a Hustle. I just can't afford multiple viewings. With that said, if there is a reason then I will. I saw Catching Fire twice. I saw it regular and thought it'd be a great film in IMAX. So I saw it in IMAX and it did not disappoint. The arena scenes were amazing in IMAX and I liked the movie. But that was essentially a second viewing at a higher level. I would see Frozen again but I'd like to see it in IMAX. Otherwise, I will wait for the Blu ray. Does anyone know if Frozen is playing in IMAX anywhere?

A separate question. So Frozen is not a Pixar film? What is there next film and when is its release? Please tell me it isn't another sequel or prequel and is something original.

I've seen it multiple times mainly because family wanted to see it and didn't want to go alone.

To answer your other questions, Frozen isn't in IMAX, but I do know it was presented with Dolby ATMOS sound in some theaters.

Frozen isn't a Pixar film, it's produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Pixar's next two films are original films, with the next one being Inside Out on June 19, 2015.

No, their next two movies are original and they both come out in 2015. Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur. No movie for Pixar next year, due to production problems with The Good Dinosaur, in which was originally going to be next year.

As for myself, I have seen Frozen 6 times
It's an odd thing of why I've come to love it so much. The more I see it, the more things I notice that could be better about it. I'm not going to deny it, the movie is flawed, but my feelings on it don't change one bit whatsoever. It's certainly not the best movie of the year, but it is my favorite of the year and that isn't going to change.

What is Dolby ATMOS, exactly? How is it different from regular movie sound?

Seen it twice. Probably more before its theatrical run ends.

Strange on the 3 disc 3D Blu-Ray Package. I pre-ordered that when it first showed up (on Dec 2nd), and now that item is just not listed at all.

It was Amazon ASIN B00G5G7FL0

If you search for it now, it's non existent, but my pre-order is still there. Usually when they delete a sku, your pre-order is affected.

This is the URL in my pre-order, which goes to nothing.

Definitely keep an eye on that. I prerodered, the name of the BD escapes me, but it was quite odd, as my preorder was active, but the item never shipped. I did a search on Amazon, and there was a whole new page created. So I had to cancel and reorder.
I'm not sure why this happens. I can only guess that the automated systems creates the new Amazon stock number, then something happens with the distributor, which leads to a quick cancellation. Then everything is back to normal with a new Amazon stock number created. Meanwhile all those early preorders are lost in digital limbo.

and my oh my... in Atmos it was just outstanding. The 64+ speaker configuration just gave such amazing oomph and spatiality to not only the music, but also all the snow and ice 'sound' elements

for the record the best Atmos mixes this year in my opinion (and in this order) are
- Gravity
- Obvilion
- Frozen

(the worst were 'Thor: The Dark World' and 'Iron Man 3')

didn't you ask this in a different thread? Atmos is object based sound manipulation between 64 or more speakers - so sound can emit/occur inside an auditorium at more concise pinpoint locations. In standard 'regular' movie sound, the core discrete base mix is 5.1 (left, center, right + left/right surround sound and bass) or 7.1 (left, center, right + left surround, left-back surround, right back surround, right surround, and bass). Mixers can implement height, as in Frozen, crackling ice can sound as if ascending up the walls and up over your head. It's so dramatically different to IMAX sound which in return sounds quite antiquated.

Would have loved to have heard this with Dolby ATMOS. Only one theater in my state provides it though, and it's only showing the Hobbit now.

Yeah, after I noticed the "null link", I went to the main blu-ray.com listing for Frozen, and saw their link goes to nowhere as well.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Frozen-3D-Blu-ray/91217/

I'm sure it will turn up soon enough, just odd it would go away like that.

Just got the deluxe soundtrack from Amazon. Gotta say, it has a nice sleeve. The inside is foil and when you hold it against the light it reflects like ice spreading through the images. Way cool!

My Frozen 3D pre-order under amazon has disappeared totally from my order list. Didn't get any email from amazon about this as well. Anyone that has pre-ordered has the same situation?

My Frozen 3D pre-order is still there (just checked), but as I said above, it goes to a non existent ASIN now at Amazon.
