The first look at Silicon Valley -- HBO's forthcoming half-hour comedy that's already being compared to Hollywood-centric Entourage in tone -- features a group of friends seeking to make a name for themselves in the booming tech industry.

STORY: HBO Struggles to Find a Broad Comedy Hit

The clip for the series, created by Mike Judge, shows a winking look at the area's bland corporate campuses, pipe dreams and Ramen-fueled lifestyle. There's also hints of Judd Apatow derived humor in the dialogue.

Unlike the mostly breezy lives of Vince and the gang in Entourage, could there be more of an edge to Silicon Valley? "They all have to shroud their capitalism with this 'we're making the world a better place' thing," Judge said of tech billionaires during a TCA panel discussion about the show in January.

Eight episodes of the sitcom are set to air on HBO beginning on April 6.

Hope this is good. HBO really needs some good new comedies.
I love girls but I have already gave up on looking and veep is pretty disappointing to me.
I really am sad we no longer have eastbound and Down, enlightened, bored to death, hello ladies, etc.
And who knows if we will ever get more curb your enthusiasm???

It was a decent. I added it to my list of shows to watch just hours before it premiered because I saw Martin Starr was in it. Sadly, he was one of the least used characters in the premiere.

This season has been great so far, nice to finally see the group moving forward with the platform.

I loved it when Gilfoyle skull f---ed Gavin's laptop. Nice to see Tara again too (much to Dinesh's discomfort).

Silicon Valley got renewed today, but a major change is coming to the show:

Miller have mutually agreed that T.J. will not return for Season 5,” HBO said in a statement. “In Erlich Bachman, T.J. has brought to life an unforgettable character, and while his presence on the show will be missed, we appreciate his contribution and look forward to future collaborations.”

Erlich has been such a great character and he'll be impossible to replace. There's the obvious issues, like the guys will either need to move out of his house or come up with a reason why they're there but Erlich's not, but he also brings a different dynamic to the show since he's not as big a part of Pied Pipers day-to-day business, even though he wants to be.

Maybe in this season they finally don't get knocked back to square one at the end of the season like always and finally have a reason to move out of his house

I will miss Erlich though for sure

It's literally the only comedy I watch these days. My favorite by far. At least until Curb Your Enthusiasm returns.
