I really like the image that has been on this site for months now of the guy with the glowing eyes.

Was expecting that to be the cover.

Thankfully, this will not be a quadruple-dip for me. But I feel your pain, as I'm sure I've bought Night of the Living Dead at least a dozen times. haha

Just because it isn't your particular cup of tea doesn't make its inclusion in HD for the first time ever not noteworthy to others.

Lol, I was laughing because the wording makes it sound like the stereo track itself is in 1080p. I've never listened to a stereo track in 1080p before.

In all seriousness though, I'm actually glad to hear they're including stereo. I'm a fan of surround mixes when done well, but I always feel they should include the original audio as well whenever possible.

Stereo is an early Cronenberg film.

I'm a big fan on Cronenberg's early work, but Spider is the only film on his that I've rated 10/10 on IMDB. I have only seen it once, but it affected me deeply and I was shocked to find out that people seem to think it's one of his worst. I would love to see a BD-release and take a second look since it has been years since I saw it.

I'd love to see Shivers, The Dead Zone, Dead Ringers etc. on BD too.

Why on earth have they put the cover of Fast Company on Stereo's IMDB-page? Nice to finally see the film, as I just watched Cronenberg discuss about those early works on The Brood's extras.

Spider is the only Cronenberg film that I didn't finish watching. I went to Wikipedia to read the ending though. I do believe it's a good film, it just wasn't to my taste. Eastern Promises is a worse film.

Finally! I am surprised to see 'Stereo' listed as an extra. Chances are good we will see 'Crimes of the Future' as an extra on 'The Brood'. Not that I care particularly about either, but it is nice to have them in HD nonetheless.

As for rating Cronenberg's output, my list looks something like this:

Videodrome
Naked Lunch
The Fly
The Brood
eXistenZ
Shivers
Rabid
A History of Violence
The Dead Zone
Eastern Promises
Scanners
Dead Ringers
Spider
Fast Company
Crimes of the Future
Stereo

Haven't seen M. Butterfly (it was never available here), Crash, A Dangerous Method, Cosmopolis yet.

'Cause Stereo was first commercially released as an extra on Fast Company.

Fast Company is a fun little race car B-Movie. Not a great movie, but okay for what it is. Plus that title song FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST COMPANY...dum dum dum. I love the fact that Cronenberg who always comes off as kind of an intellectual stiff recorded a commentary for that film.

Really the only out and out bad film from Cronenberg is Cosmopolis, and that has more to do with just how poorly the De Lilio dialogue style translates to film. Other than the who Giamatti section, it just doesn' work.

Yes - though I really like Cronenberg's '80's - '90's work like Scanners, The Fly, Videodrome, The Dead Zone, ExistenZ, etc. I truly enjoyed Spider (2002). I actually saw this in the theater & while the whole story was amazing, the ending was absolutely shocking. Excellent film, and one that is, if possible, even better the second time around since you know what to look for. I also think it's quite possibly Ralph Fiennes' best role; Miranda Richardson was also brilliant in the film...

While I don't always like later Cronenberg films from the 200X's (I didn't think History of Violence was that great, and far inferior to the graphic novel source material - and, I strongly disliked Cosmopolis), Spider was definitely one of his best.

Love the cover! The transfer will have to be a significant upgrade from the German disc before I'll double dip though.
