lololol @ the list

Most of those films are excellent. I wonder how these gossip sites narrow down their selections.

I agree. I liked the film for what it was but it is nowhere great as the Whedon fanboys try to claim. It is a remake of Transformers 3

Now, I think that Under the Skin and Cold in July blow all of the above films away. All things considered, though, I'm liking the big budget popcorn summer movies of 2014 a lot more than I expected.
Cap wasn't summer, and while I liked Godzilla, Fault and X-Men, none blew me away.

But all the other big films got huge hype and all were so-so imo.

The original article is pretty horrible that it exists and this thread is even more horrible that people are suggesting films that are overrated and actually trying to debate this nonsense.

The Huff writer is just using his article to influence others with his poorly constructed views. He should be taken no more seriously than the guy down at the pub saying films X, Y and Z are rubbish.

It's painfully obvious that the reviews for these Marvel/DC films on Blu-Ray.com are written by nothing more than fanboyz...

Avengers was a steaming pile of crap.

Pondosinatra, I'll back you up - Avengers is not nearly as good as people say and suffers from some bad writing especially at the end. They have this epic fight, everyone is regrouping and Banner kind of just shuffles his way through the wreckage, then tells them he is now always angry. Um, you are still not green, how can you be always angry? Iron Man "almost" dying at the end was lame - you knew it wouldn't happen. And they have this weapon that will destroy everything yet the guy who created put in a backdoor to disable it just incase he has a change of heart! People complain about the end of Dark Knight Rises but come on, this is no better. The overhype is people calling it the best superhero/comic movie ever. Yeah it made a ton of cash but this movie feels like it should have been made in the 90's, not now.

Avengers is masturbatory material for fanboyz and that's it. Hulk, Thor, Iron Man all in the same movie together? OH MY GOD!!!!

But for someone watching the movie and reviewing it strictly on its merits its full of sound and fury but ultimately signifying nothing. I'm sure it's supporters on here have been petitioning for a Criterion release however.
