Thanks; I check the previous posts before making a new one, but somehow missed that.

Yeah, happens to me as well sometimes
But that's what the forum is for, to ask about stuff you're unsure about.

Just placed a Diabolik order for the uncut Ghoulies II. Love that film. Hopefully III and IV show up later this year. I'm still banking on Vestron finishing out that DVD collection with 976-EVIL 2 and Ghoulies III.

Is the Scream Factory release the definitive version of these films?
I've never seen either of them before, would you say they're worth a blind buy?

The amaray or mediabook? Amazon.de has the amarays for 15eur each part and the Mediabook which includes part 1 and 2 for 45eur.

I would check out some of the trailers and clips available online before committing to a purchase if you've never seen the movies. There is a lot of nostalgia associated with these movies. The plots are great but they can be rough in parts from a film point of view.

However, I'm almost certain this is probably the most definitive release were going to get, especially since the 3rd and 4th films are with Lionsgate.

The German BD of part II is definitive, as it has the original uncut R-rated version.

Also, if the information I've heard is true, the terrible sibilance issue with the audio on the SF release for Ghoulies 2 is fixed for the german release.

Picked up the Scream Factory Double feature edition not too long ago. Also was pretty shocked to see Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order.

Ghoulies II is one of the very, very few times I'd say the sequel is superior to the original. More entertaining, fun, engaging, and actually focuses more on the Ghoulies themselves in a carnival setting.

Original ‘Ghoulies’ Creators Hoping to Get Sony on Board With a Franchise Reboot

Quote:
Empire Pictures’ lovable creature feature Ghoulies just turned 35 this year, a film that went on to spawn a four-movie franchise that ended with 1994’s Ghoulies IV. That means we haven’t seen or heard from the franchise in over 25 years, but the original creators are now determined to bring the tiny rubber monsters back to life.

Director/Co-Writer Luca Bercovici and Producer/Co-Writer Jefery Levy are asking rights holders Sony Pictures to allow them to reboot the Ghoulies franchise with a brand new movie, and a petition for that cause is now live over on Change.org.

The petition reads, “Bercovici and Levy are urging fans to climb the porcelain throne and support the #GhouliesReboot campaign in order to show Sony that audiences want a new entry to the series which originally ran from 1985 to 1994. Once we have hit our signature target this petition will be forwarded to Sony CEO Tony Vinciquerra, and hopefully discussions can start between Luca Bercovici, Jefery Levy and Steve Bersch at Screen Gems (a division of Sony) regarding production on a new and exciting Ghoulies reboot.”

“Ghoulies transcended its original generation and was embraced by the following generation who loved the weirdly strange and goofy world of the Ghoulies. The cult of Ghoulies has grown legion over the decades; this legion of old fans and a whole generation of new fans crave for a new Ghoulies for the new millennium,” says Bercovici.

At the time of this writing, the petition has been signed by over 120 Ghoulies fans. So if you want more Ghoulies, sign it and pass it along. As we always like to say, it can’t hurt!

Does anyone know if the unrated version of the original Ghoulies film has ever been released overseas? I'm curious to what those 12 seconds of footage removed were(if IMDB is in fact telling the truth).

Was there a version of the Scream release that has a bluray copy of the two Ghoulies films and a flipper dvd?

Nope. That's how my release currently looks, but that's because I added the old flipper DVD to the Scream Factory release which is likely what someone else did as well.

Plenty of Scream's early releases included DVD's but they have never utilized a flipper disc. That's a relic of the early days of DVD.

According to the latest issue of Horrorhound Magazine, the producers of the Original "Ghoulies" film have reclaimed the rights to the franchise and are currently planning on releasing a new trilogy of films. (I believe these will be a reboot of the franchise, and not additional sequels, but a person can hope, as I'd love to see a return of the creatures from part 2). No other info at present time, but I would guess that these will be straight to video releases. I just hope that they capture the magic of what made Ghoulies 2 & 3 so much fun and provide just as memorable creatures and humor.

I have the Spain blu ray copy which has 1-3 and postcards. Limited to 1600 copies. But it's not listed on here. So I just added the other import instead

Hmmm... it used to be listed on the site. It appears someone deleted it. I've had that collection myself for about 2 years now I believe. It's quite good and is still one of the best ways to enjoy Ghoulies go to College.
