Don't forget to adjust the horizontal for presentation with the proper stereo window placement. I posted about that issue earlier in this thread.

Yes thanks Bob, spotted that post. I have a similar model projector so will make that depth change prior to viewing.

Great, once you make that adjustment, it looks pretty good!

What would it take to correct this release? Just panning one eye horizontally or is it more botched than that? If that's the issue, I know a few enthusiasts that could fix it

That’s a wonderful thought, but we have WAY too much on the plate to take on another project.

Once Robot Monster is out the door at the end of the month, Greg has three features (with one more due to arrive in March) awaiting his restoration magic!

I get the feeling it's more complicated than that and the phasing issue is baked in, but it would be great if I was wrong about that and it could somehow be corrected with some kind of processing.

It's such a beautiful master but sadly between the wrong depth plane (which can be sort of corrected in your TV) and the phasing issue, they really botched this disc. I'm still glad to own it but it's a very frustrating release because it's essentially broken.

Let’s have hope that the 3DFA can get the rights and tackle this one sometime down the road when they get a breather.

The phasing issue is most likely baked-in from principal photography (out-of-phase camera shutters) but we'd need to see the raw left/right scans to confirm.

The master is indeed very beautiful, and quite watchable, even if a few things weren't as they should've been. There's also a relatively long scene that is in reverse stereo with left and right views playing to the wrong eyes.

I still felt it was well worth having, even without an english language track or subtitles. The visuals carried it. To me it was a top-tier title, on some levels maybe even a top ten title among Golden Age on 3D-bluray. I'd certainly buy a stereo-corrected and subtitled licensed release if the time ever comes.

It was a title I didn't even think I was interested in.
