It's bad enough here (Canada and the States) with a bunch of worthless f**ks running a worthless raiting system and limiting what can get into the theatres, but at least there is the ability to release things DTV and such in an unrated way.
Yeah it's kinda confusing. You can say f**k in a PG-13 movie, as long as it doesn't have a sexual connotation to it, then it becomes R. So mother-effer is not allowed in PG-13 movies.

Yep. It's completely asinine. I guess I will say that the rule you just mentioned, while ridiculous in principle, has led to some pretty epic "one f**k in the movie" lines over the years.

Spaceballs. PG. "F***, even in the future, nothing works." After the addition of PG-13 mind you.

It's crazy how the same word can mean the difference between PG-13 and R.

You can say "f**k you," in PG-13, but if you said "go f**k yourself," now it's R rated. Even though it's virtually the same thing.

Even the South Part movie had to change their song Mother f**ker to Uncle f**ker, bc Mother Effer would've gotten them an NC-17. So I guess the MPAA feels f**king your uncle, isn't as bad as f**king your mother.

Didn't X-Men: First Class get away with a "go f*k yourself" though?

Anchorman did too. So yeah, that one is not an auto R-rating. Though I suppose motherf***er is as they had to cut it off in Live Free or Die Hard just to get that PG13 rating.

No wonder Balls to the Wall was Rated R.

I guess thats ok by MPAA standards. But I do know you can't say any sexual F words in a PG-13 movie. And I would assume "go F yourself" is an extremely sexual act. MPAA is weird.

Maybe it depends on the circumstances? I didn't see Anchorman, but I know for X-Men it was literally "Hi, I'm Magneto." "Go f yourself." "Okay then." and just an excuse to have Wolverine in the movie.

Now that I think about it, he did it again in The Wolverine, saying the exact same line with "pretty boy" added onto it right before the ninja scene. That movie had an alternate cut, so perhaps they trimmed quite a bit of violence in exchange for keeping the swear?

Imagine the BBFC threw a curveball and rated it PG "Moments of peril where viewers may feel uncomfortable paint is not drying without assistance"

Is the narrator doing the swearing?

It would depend on if it was an uncle by marriage.

10 hours of paint drying with a narrator cursing at it? I would actually like to see that.
