It may be my favourite Brit horror of all time. I think someone once described it as a "horror musical" and that is so true; there's a song every five minutes! But what an ending, though. So bleak and unexpected.

Sir Christopher Lee and Edward Woodward, sadly no longer with us.

Look at me.

I'm Italian.

And I think "DEEP RED" is still one of the most frightening movies out there.

And I'm still hugely fascinated by it.

What about you?

Top 10 horror? Holy cow that'd be hard...

Army of Darkness
Evil Dead
Evil Dead 2
Scream
The Thing
Nightmare on Elm Street
Halloween 3
New Nightmare
Alien
Cabin in the Woods

This would probably change day by day though. Making a top 10 on such a broad genre like horror which I love is crazy hard.

I don't find Deep Red frightening at all, but I think it's a fantastic Giallo.

Don't Look Now is the best of that era

Fright is amazing as well, though no one seems to have even heard of that.

Yep, loved Ed Woodward. The Wicker Man is the reason I love films. Something unexpected and so odd but very compelling.

Nah, not a chance. Great film but TWM is the boss!

Fright? Yes, it was decent. It had Susan George, which was good enough reason for me to watch. Amazing though? Bit of a stretch mate.

The Wicker Man isn't supposed to be scary. It's a different kind of horror.

It's about a man of faith and order losing his shit on some hippie island run by people with loose morals and cult like (anti-Christian) behavior. It's fairly obvious that it's about Howie's descent into madness, because everything that happens there goes straight into his beliefs he was born and raised with.

Which one do you prefer, the original or export version? I slightly favor the export because I think it flows better with its shorter running time.

For me this top 10 goes from one extreme to another. I absolutely adore Evil Dead 1 and 2, The Thing and Nightmare On Elm Street but I cannot stand New Nightmare, Halloween III and most of all Cabin In The Woods. The latter I rank as one of the worst horror movies I have ever seen.

Yes! Cabin in the Woods and New Nightmare are awful. Freddy's new make up is atrocious. I do like Halloween III though.

Haha yeah I know they are divisive films. I love that New Nightmare and Halloween 3 brought something completely different to the table in their respective series and did it damn good imo. As for Cabin I love the meta look at horror and I've always been a huge Joss fan so it clicked with me right off the bat.

Nah, hated it with a passion.

I remember people saying it was fresh and original but I didn't buy it. I'd rather have a thousand more unoriginal and uninspired prequels/sequels/remakes/reboots than this kind of movie again.

Fair enough! We are spoilt with Virtual reality horror though mate! . Takes more to scare us/impress us now.

Maybe it's just me.

New Nightmare, Halloween III, Cabin In The Woods but also It Follows and Jason Goes To Hell come to mind. I hate all of these. These are movies that try something different but a little too different for my taste, they are way out of my safe zone and therefore I dislike them so much I think.
