I asked Strange Attractor if they planned a LE for the book, as they did with the first volume:

Redemption's ORLOF'S MONSTER is cut, that kinda sucks. I compared to the DVD and hoped it was just a few seconds, but nope!

Nice upgrade. I'd be interested in knowing what the differences are regarding their The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein release.

No more Severin pre orders for me, although both of these titles are solid.
I woudl like to upgrade but will wait for reviews.

Redemption.s DR Z looks aces, likely could stand a better encode but Kino did not ruin it.
Very nice.

On April 3rd, Severin Films is busting open the floodgates of Euro-Erotica with two ultra-rare Jess Franco films that have never before been available on disc in North America! The dastardly duo of THE SADIST OF NOTRE DAME (1979) and SINFONIA EROTICA (1979) show the maestro of the zoom lens at his most unhinged. Fans of the prolific sleaze merchant have been chomping on their ball gags for years in anticipation of having their eyeballs whipped by these naughty narratives in sparkling high-definition!

THE SADIST OF NOTRE DAME: In 1979, legendary writer/director Jess Franco (VAMPYROS LESBOS) re-purposed elements of his satanic sex shocker EXORCISM with all-new footage to create a depraved new epic that – even by Uncle Jess standards – achieves new levels of EuroSleaze insanity: Franco himself stars a defrocked priest turned hooker-slashing psychopath, prowling the streets of Paris in a fever of violence, voyeurism, rampant nudity and S&M depravity. Olivier Mathot (TWO FEMALE SPIES WITH FLOWERED PANTIES), Pierre Taylou (HOT NIGHTS OF LINDA), Antonio DeCabo (VIRGIN AMONG THE LIVING DEAD) and Jess’ beloved muse Lina Romay (MACUMBA SEXUAL, MANSION OF THE LIVING DEAD) co-star in what Franco considered to be his most personal film of all, now scanned in 4k from elements discovered in the crawlspace of a Montparnasse nunnery.

SINFONIA EROTICA: At the close of the ‘70s, eminent auteur Jess Franco (SHE KILLED IN ECSTASY) revisited the works of Marquis de Sade to create what EuroSleaze historians have called one of the most sexually daring and boldly creative films of his entire career: When an unstable noblewoman (a fearless performance by Lina Romay) returns to her lavish estate, she will find herself – along with her libertine husband, his male lover, and a young nun with a craving for violation – trapped in a web of unholy hungers and decadent perversions. Susan Hemingway of TWO FEMALE SPIES WITH FLOWERED PANTIES co-stars in this sonata of artsy depravity – featuring a score by Franco & Franz Liszt – now transferred in 4k from an uncut 35mm print donated by The Instituto de la Sexualidad Humana in Madrid.

The Franco's keep coming out and I keep passing on them. I rather see DEVIL CAME FROM AKASAVA, DEVIL'S ISLAND LOVERS, or something like that.

According to Film Aficionado, Gaumont will be releasing Attack of the Robots on 4/11, though I couldn't find a pre-order link on Amazon.fr.

Anyone able to compile a sublist of movies on Blu that are a) region free b) original language included c) English subs if foreign language?

Only about half of the Goya collection films for instance have both original language and subs

Not sure why but Jess Franco English dubs are particularly horrendous

Is there an original language for the Goya titles? Weren't all the dubs done at the same time as part of the original production?

I dunno, IMDB and some Franco fan sites I've found have original languages specified for them (German usually, sometimes French or Spanish) and it looks like the majority/all of cast is not speaking english from ones I've seen. Using foreign language + subs seemed more natural than English dub. Possible cast could be speaking different languages but English didn't seem to be one of them from what I could tell. Also, the Goya Collection titles all have the original German on them for applicable titles, but a number of them don't have English subs.

Part of problem is, that some of the Franco English dubs are BAD, which makes the movie unintentionally funny often... Other thing is that if the title only has english dub good chance could be released much cheaper in US via Full Moon (as was done with Barbed Wire Dolls if you are okay with English dub only) - Full Moon seems to have rights to most Jess Franco Goya titles. Also would make more sense to have English title cards etc as Full Moon versions would have if watching the English dub IMO.

But I am opening to hear about Goya collection titles with decent English dub. Its too bad they all didn't have English subs.

I have all the Goya titles and the only movie which has a noticeably bad english dub with no subtitles on the other languages is BLUE RITA. The others are all fine.

From memory I think there's a very detailed post about the dubs/subtitles in the German Franco thread?

I've got this Google doc spreadsheet which I think could be used as a starting point.
I'm listing the best releases, in my opinion. For example, I'm listing Nucleus Film's releases for The Demons and The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein instead of Redemption's releases as in my opinion they're better, more complete and with more care put into them.

I can share that Google doc spreadsheet in case anyone would like to add more info to it, just PM.
