Absolutely, monorail91! In yet another scene where we see the New You Seminar souls honing their skills, one hits a direct bullseye on its Archers target. There are possibly more, but I've only viddied it once.

I bought this blind. This movie is so weirdly built and yet works so magnificently. The main character pretty much disappears for the climax, and we get an extended debate back and forth about the merits and demerits of Americanism and British culture. Who does that?
And yet, the emotional impact of the film's last half hour or so is completely undeniable. It also has what might be my most favorite opening to a movie ever, the look through the stars that ends up focusing in on one of the greatest falling in love at the speed of film scenes I've ever seen. This really is a work of genius, and I absolutely loved it. |

This needs a 4K like nobody's business.

A long time ago, back in the days when IMDB had a forum for discussion, someone would state quite unequivocally that we DID NOT NEED A BLU RAY for A Matter of Life and Death, because DVD quality was good enough. Week, eventually we were given the Criterion blu ray and a (somewhat disappointing) steelbook in the UK.
I do hope someone will be bold enough to produce a 4K disc for this, preferably with a wonderful steelbook with artwork like the poster for the 2017 BFI London Film Festival (they’re having another Powell and Pressburger retrospective this year). |

"Currently unavailable" just means it's temporarily out of stock in most cases. This happens for a lot of titles after the November B&N sale, not to mention Criterion's own 30% off sale.
Shoah, Babette's Feast, Naked Lunch, Bull Durham, Notorious, The Player, Dekalog, His Girl Friday, Essential Fellini, as well as the 4K UHD of The Red Shoes and dual format A Hard Day's Night are also listed as such - in addition to a bunch of DVD editions. |

There was a new 4K DCP shown at The Film Forum and The Academy Museum within the last two years, so hoping that's a precursor for a new 4K UHD release.
Sure hope so. One of my top favorite films of all time. |
