Sorry, I assumed people would stream instead of using a local drive. I suppose it depends on whether your house ethernet or wireless can stream fast enough and whether you want to share to more than one device. I've been streaming 2D through my house for years, excited to be able to stream 3d now. I've got another Vero 4K+ on order which I would use for my projector so I would be able to stream to either my 3D TV or projector now. At least once I finish ripping all the movies in 3D. 3D movie sizes are too big though, my 12 TB drive isn't going to be big enough but thankfully the drive prices seem to be coming back to earth. This pretty much future proofs me now because I was always worried what to do later if my region free bluray player ever breaks. I'm sure you can find used replacement bluray players later but region free ones might be really hard to find. |

Call of Heroes has medium-strength depth but obvious conversion errors in almost every frame. Rise of the Legend looks much better, one of the only decent Chinese conversions.

https://www.douban.com/doulist/233916/ Also, found some low-res streaming clips of the SBS 3D version online, and it looks like an autoconversion. Not just 2D recessed into the screen but very weak depth and minimal shaping. Last edited by BleedOrange11; 10-15-2021 at 12:45 PM. |

Looks like it is sold out in all the usual places so you'll have to try and find a used copy.

Would totally be fine with that if I could find one haha. I'm surprised that it's this hard to find given that the movie itself isn't even that old. I guess if any forum members have no plans to watch their copies again, feel free to send a note my way!

The 3D is actually quite flat in Snow Girl. Don't get your hopes up. Only the animated sequences are decent. Definitely a waste of their 3D rigs and western stereographer supervision.
I'd recommend The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom as a similar but better romance with better 3D, as well as any of The Monkey King or Journey to the West movies to watch gods battle in 3D. Last edited by BleedOrange11; 10-19-2021 at 09:30 AM. |

Just putting an update out there that I was finally able to track down Zhongkui 3D on Ruten Taiwan of all places. I've actually found several OOP 3D titles there recently (The Monkey King 2, Rise of the Dragon, and The Four II) and they were the HK versions instead of the Taiwan versions actually, so I would say that if anyone is still looking for hard-to-find titles to consider that route as well. I will note that it's a little harder to get items from there though as you will probably have to work with a Taiwan proxy service/agent in order to get them, but there are really no shortage of those. I've had a good experience with Taiwan EZSTAR as a shopping service and would recommend them as a starting point.
Already have White Haired Witch (but have yet to watch it) and I had wanted to track down the entire Monkey King Trilogy in 3D before I started watching them, so getting Part II on Ruten completed that task. As for Journey to the West, this was in a package coming from DDDHouse that was shipped in mid-September that never showed up and I have an open investigation with Hong Kong Post about it. It seemed to leave HK okay but it never showed up with any US tracking info, so I'm fairly sure that they will deem it as a lost item shortly. Shame too because I had some of the highly-regarded titles in there like Mermaid and The Taking of Tiger Mountain as well. Thankfully, all of the titles in the box are still available in the event that DDDHouse ends up shipping a replacement order. |

I recently bought Mermaid, Swordmaster and Taking of Tiger bay. The last 2 in particular have great 3D. But my biggest compliment to all 3 is that I would have enjoyed them in 2D as well. Last edited by cdx47; 11-07-2021 at 05:43 PM. |

My brother recently went to Taiwan on business. I gave him a shopping list and didn't hear a thing. Then the following brand new, shrinkwrapped 3-D titles arrived today out of the blue via US mail:
CZ12 (Hong Kong release-- English subs) Dark Flight (Taiwan release-- English subs) Natalie (Taiwan release-- English subs) Painted Skin Resurrection (Hong Kong release-- English subs) ![]() I'm still in a bit of shock. ![]() I had already obtained CZ12 (recently) & Natalie (a few months back) from a fellow blu-ray.com friend. I can now retire my German release of Painted Skin Resurrection. And I have no idea on what to expect with Dark Flight. Most Thai movies haven't impressed me, though their 3-D quality has been good. Natalie was a mediocre movie but Korean babes are hot and the 3-D was good, so what more do you need? Let me end by asking, is there anybody willing to trade their copy of Young Detective Dee (3-D HK release) for CZ12 or Natalie ? Please PM! Thanks, Jason |

If anyone hasn't seen Protector 2, it's a must buy for action fans. It's the only one of the bunch that had a 3-D US release so it's easy and cheap to get. |

The Second Sight is on par with 3 AM for story and 3D.
The Protector 2 is mostly a bad conversion by a Thai VFX company, full of bad CGI and a silly story--insufferable for me. They claim to have shot it with native 3D rigs, but similar to Iceman, I don't think much native 3D, if any, actually made the final cut. Last edited by BleedOrange11; 11-09-2021 at 04:41 PM. |

Comparing 3D movies is like motorcycles vs mopeds.... Ah screw it, just buy everything minus the auto conversions. Quantity has a quality all it's own. Last edited by jchung30; 11-09-2021 at 05:34 PM. |

I know very little about the film but the one review I read said that the visual effects are closer to a PS3 cutscene than to modern CGI. Looking at the YouTube clips they're not wrong. |
