They should eventually, but we don’t know right now, since SF won’t allow anyone to take preorders except for their own store and Amazon.

I've never knew how 4k transfers worked. So I'm kinda new to steelbooks, and I have a question. If I purchase this "4K transfer" of the film, what does that mean?

Will it play on my standard PS4 (not a 4K bluray player) like a regular bluray, and the 4k transfer will play on a 4k player?

Or

Do I have to own a 4k player regardless and it isn't possible to play the film regardless?

It means the negative was scanned at 4K resolution and downsampled to 1080p. So it's still a regular Blu-ray, but the resulting quality is higher than if it were scanned at a lower resolution.

Don't you be jumping the gun with this "negative" talk.

Since these don’t say so, I’d guess no unless they amend the page. You might want to ask them on Facebook or Twitter.

Does anyone know the release date for both of these?

Amazon says Oct. 9, but I could have sworn I read somewhere on this site a while back that they are coming out in late September.

Thanks!

Both are listed for October 9th on Shout's website.

So how much does everyone think these will end up at Amazon? Im debating on whether to use amazon or just go straight from Shout Factory.

I am going to wait it out and order from Bull Moose when they can finally list them on release day (I am assuming they will be $19.97-21.97 each). By that time there will probably be reviews available so I can decide if they are worth the upgrade.

Depends on what Best Buy/Walmart/Target eventually lists them for. If you’re preordering, you’re better off ordering them direct from SF.

So the German blu-ray disc shared Terror in the Aisles and the TV version. I wonder if it's also possible the German TV version is a bit different than the version on the Shout disc? I know there are a couple slightly different versions of the TV version floating around. I've seen a broadcast master with a few additional short insert shots that aren't in the Shout version

Good catch about the stinger when Jimmy pops up. I knew something was off there when I checked it the other day but couldn't figure out what.

Here'e the alternate ending as it aired at some point on Chiller:

In that version the stinger is missing.
I did a bit of research because I'm OSD about this movie., the NSM 4 disc set had the TV cut on a DVD not a blu ray.
Here is a video.

Also sadly the extra scenes that are included on the blu ray disc are of lower quality then on the Shout DVD. I was hoping it would be better, but it wasn't.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to dip again on these releases as this will be my third dip for both titles (box set, individual shout factory releases, these). However, if they are an improvement I will just swap the discs out from the collector's set with these ones :P

At least I will get the posters with these releases, even if I can just order the movies alone on Amazon for less.
