It's exactly this. He said so in a recent interview and frankly I'm glad that's the case. Copying what Troy Baker did would be just about the laziest choice an actor could make. Not only would that draw nothing but comparisons the entire time, it would pull people like me out of it. I want to see the character of Joel, I don't want to see Pedro playing Troy as Joel.

People need to think of it this way. If you were acting in a play where a specific actor had become famous playing the same role you had, would you just copy exactly what they did or would you make it your own?

They have been filming this series all over Alberta. They shot for about a week just down the street from me at the old hospital. (Grande Prairie) It caused a bunch of delays/detours on my route to work as the building is on one of the main streets in the downtown area and they closed off the whole area for the shoot. If they shot on one of the upper floors of the hospital, I might even be able to see my house out the window!
