I wouldn't, because I have read the DC Amazons Attack event. That was painful.

As usual Amazon is late to the party. Still no listing for a pre-order.

I'm worried a bit about color. I've seen some of the older HD 16:9 remasters and the colors looked nice. An earlier comment said the newer 4:3 remasters were a step down in terms of color. Can anybody elaborate? Why is the color worse? Desaturated? Teal? Are there any screen comparisons? From earlier in the thread:

Quote:
The HD remaster on DC Universe is 4:3 and had all the film impurities removed even from stock footage scenes which is greatly appreciated, but the color correction is terrible.

I hope the preorder starts soon.

Also it would be nice if this was linked to the product page forum option for the Wonder Woman TV series.

It's been available for preorder at Best Buy and Target for a while now. Amazon is not the only retailer online.

Yes but Amazon could lower their preorder price depending on when it goes up. No one else does.

That will be doubtful. Not surprisingly, The Flash had a lot of CGI, which was all rendered at Standard Def resolution, and post-processing was done on SD video. Very much the same thing as Warner had done with Babylon 5.

It's possible that they could upscale it to HD, but that's the best we could hope for. Warner is not likely to want to spend the money to re-render the CGI -- assuming the data files haven't been deleted -- and re-composite/re-edit all of the episodes. Paramount was willing to do that with Star Trek: The Next Generation, but that has a much, much larger fan base than The Flash (and Paramount has not been willing to do the same with DS9 or Voyager).

I had purchased Wonder Woman in HD on iTunes and, reading through this thread inspired me to pick up where I had left off around a year ago or so on a watch-through, with season 1's "Formula 407."

I started playing the episode and was surprised the title sequence was in 4:3. I didn't remember that from my earlier watch (I noted how the 16:9 cropping threw off the comic book 4:3 framing from the title sequence.) Then the rest of the episode started playing in 4:3 as well!

I don't subscribe to DC Universe, so this was my first time seeing the newer 4:3 masters. There were a couple of specific shots in the episode that appeared faded, but otherwise the colors looked pretty good. I then noticed a "remastered" moniker/banner that the WW image for iTunes is using that seems new to me.

So then, I pulled up the S3 episode "The Deadly Dolphin" to check and it looked like that is still the 16:9 version coming in at 45min 15sec. I then looked at S2's "The Return of Wonder Woman" and that one is in the newer 4:3. I then checked some of the other S3 episodes and found those were in the updated 4:3 as well. Skateboard Whiz now clocks in at the longer 47:44, while Stolen Faces is the proper 4:3 now, but still shows a running time of 45:45. I then checked the rest, it looks like only "The Deadly Dolphin" is still in cropped 16:9.

Hopefully they finish updating the files so the aspect ratio is consistent. Will also be buying on blu-ray too, of course, although I had liked the idea of potentially having both aspect ratios (iTunes for widescreen and blu-rays for proper 4:3 viewing).

Great find! I quickly went through all of the episodes on iTunes and can confirm all episodes except "The Deadly Dolphin" have been updated. "The Deadly Dolphin" is still cut and 16:9. "The Man Who Could Not Die" now runs 47:43 instead of 43:51 and is 4:3.

Yes, the artwork has been updated:

The Complete Series

Season 1

Season 3

I will also be picking this one up and almost bought the itunes version. Last summer I watched The Incredible Hulk Series again after many years and hope to see that on Blu-Ray someday along with the first 5 seasons of Smallville.

If you're region free, The Incredible Hulk is available on Blu-ray from the UK and France. I've thought about getting the UK set once Amazon UK ships internationally again.

If you're Region B compatible, there's a Hulk Complete Series set out in the UK.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-I...lu-ray/167276/

It's not quite "The Complete Collection", however; it doesn't have the three post-series telefilms.

No. All three digital versions (the old 16:9 HD iTunes version, the DC Universe 4:3 HD version, and the new 4:3 HD iTunes version) use the revised opening of the pilot.

Here are the differences between the original opening of the pilot and the revised opening of the pilot:

1) In the original opening, footage of an explosion is shown. In the revised opening, you only hear the explosion because the footage has been replaced with animated stars.

2) In the original opening, the title card read "The New, Original Wonder Woman". In the revised opening, the title card reads "Wonder Woman".

3) In the original opening, Wonder Woman is shown deflecting bullets with her bracelets. In the revised opening, it shows Wonder Woman using her lasso.

I think Warner will eventually fix it. I think they just forgot to upload the new version of "The Deadly Dolphin" to iTunes. It appears Warner has updated Amazon too and "The Deadly Dolphin" shows a running time of 48 minutes:

Region free players can be had for as cheap as $99. It's a must-have in this day and age.
